Chapter 238 Cleaning Up Levi’s Men

Finished

Joanna looked up at her team, her mind already shifting to the logistics of moving forty filthy, exhausted soldiers into her secure territory. He already lost over half of his men. She could smell the brokeness in him.

“Let’s get these guys cleaned up,” she ordered briskly. “Jolie, get them new clothes. Pull out something they can use to wash up.”

Levi went completely still, staring at her in absolute shock before he finally found his voice. “Joanna, there is no water left in the city that isn’t tainted. We only managed to collect a little bit when it started snowing.”

Joanna rolled her eyes playfully, entirely unbothered by his concern. “Let me worry about that.”

She turned her gaze back to Briggs, her expression becoming practical and cautious. “I don’t know if Levi’s group could be carrying an infection, so just to be safe, I am pulling out the camping showers and hot spring water. I need you to heat the water up when it starts getting cold.”

With a casual wave of her hand, a row of fully equipped portable shower stalls materialized along the back wall, along with neat stacks of fresh military fatigues. She then reached into her pocket dimension and pulled out several heavy plastic gallons filled with a glowing, pristine liquid.

“Before bed, make sure your men drink this,” Joanna said, sliding the containers across the mahogany table toward Levi. “It’s cold rejuvenation water. It’ll flush out any toxins and heal up their hidden injuries.”

Standing up and dusting off her jacket, she looked toward the lobby. “Jake, you come with me.”

While Major Levi and his officers watched in stunned silence, Joanna and Jake walked out of the conference room, leaving the rest of the team to manage the makeshift bathhouse.

Within minutes, the dark bank lobby was transformed. The portable camping shower stalls stood lined up against the marble walls, magically filled to the brim with steaming, pristine hot spring water. Briggs stood nearby, his hands occasionally sparking with a controlled, thermal warmth. If the water temperature dipped even a fraction of a degree in the freezing bank air, he was ready to reheat it instantly.

Nearby, Jolie tapped rapidly on the warehouse electronic pad, activating the spatial transfer linked directly to Joanna’s pocket dimension. With a low hum, a row of heavy-duty, modern washing machines and dryers materialized out of thin air along the lobby floor.

Kailee and RJ immediately pointed at massive bundles of the soldiers’ filthy, blood-stained uniforms. They turned their heads in unison, spotting Julian standing by the marble teller counter.

“Please, Captain Crispy!” Jolie pleaded, putting her hands together in a dramatic, exaggerated prayer.

“Yeah, come on, Captain Crispy, just a little juice!” RJ chimed in, whining right alongside her.

Julian slowly turned his head to look at them. His arms were tightly crossed over his chest. A dark, furious scowl twisted his features, and his eyes flashed with utter disdain at the ridiculous nickname.

“They could wash their clothes right now,” RJ pressed, gesturing to the newly summoned appliances. “But the bank’s power grid is completely dead, and our portable generators are way too weak to run these monsters. We just need you to crank them up.”

Julian didn’t even blink, Tiny, jagged arcs of blue electricity danced dangerously across his knuckles, reflecting in the pitch-dark shadows of the lobby.

“No,” Julian said. His voice was a flat, icy, and completely unyielding stone wall.

Meanwhile, further back in the deep recesses of the bank, Joanna’s flashlight beam sliced through the thick, stuffy darkness. She stopped in front of the massive, circular vault door. It was an absolute beast of reinforced steel, secured by heavy mechanical bolts and a complex combination lock. Even if the entire building crumbled under an attack, this reinforced safe would remain a secure haven.

“Even if the building came down, it would be safest here,” Joanna murmured, running her hand along the cold steel facade. She glanced over her shoulder. “Jake-open this up for me”

Jake stepped forward, his eyes locking onto the heavy vault door. He didn’t reach for tools. Instead, he simply raised his hands, palms open toward the steel, and closed his eyes.
