Joanna leaned against the rooftop ledge, her eyes reflecting the distant, broken skyline. “I was thinking we use the zombies as a dinner bell.”

RJ and Briggs exchanged a confused look, the wind whistling between them.

“Think about it,” Joanna continued, her voice low and calculated. “If we send small hordes to the buildings, the Blood Fang will probably release their aberrant zombies to deal with them. The chaos will mask our movement. But I’m still figuring out how we should deliver the explosives to those specific spots.”

Briggs turned his handsome face toward her, a diabolical gleam flashing in his eyes as the shadows shifted over his features.

“I say we strap the explosives straight to the zombies,” he said, his voice dropping to a gravelly, lethal pur

Joanna smirked, shaking her head at how remarkably good-looking he could manage to be while suggesting something so completely unhinged.

RJ rolled her eyes and nudged his shoulder, letting out a soft laugh. “Are you prepared to deal with the Zombie Union over forced labor laws, Briggs? Pretty sure the union doesn’t approve of explosive vests.”

Briggs didn’t even blink. He adjusted his tactical vest, his expression perfectly deadpan as he stared down into the dark city streets. The union signed away their rights the second they stopped breathing. Besides, I’m offering them a promotion to ‘highly explosive corporate assets. It’s a booming market.”

Joanna let out a soft laugh, reality bending around her fingers. “Alright, labor disputes aside, let’s build some bombs. Downstairs.”

With a sudden twist of her wrist, she grabbed both RJ and Briggs. The rooftop froze, blurred, and snapped away. In a single, silent spatial jump, they materialized back inside the freezing dampness of the accountant firm’s lobby.

Around them, the fifty frozen zombies were still shuffling in their obedient, bizarre perimeter patrol.

Joanna tore open a wide rift to her pocket dimension right in the center of the room. The air rippled, casting a faint distortion over the cracked floor tiles. Reaching into the void, she began pulling out crates of military-grade C4 blocks, spools of digital det-cord, and heavy tactical harnesses, letting them thud onto a dusty office desk.

Briggs dropped to one knee beside the crates, his handsome features shifting into focused intensity. His large hands moved with practiced, lethal efficiency, slicing the plastic explosives and rigging wireless receivers to each block.

“RJ, freeze them in place,” Joanna instructed, tossing a bundle of tactical straps to the floor. “Let’s get our volunteers into their new uniforms.”

With RJ holding the horde perfectly still like frozen mannequins, Joanna and Briggs worked with terrifying speed, snapping harnesses and wiring C4 onto the unliving bodies. Within minutes, the first fifty walking bombs were fully rigged and ready.

“Hold their positions,” Joanna muttered, grabbing RJ and Briggs by the shoulders once more.

Space folded violently around them. In a series of blinding, rapid jumps, Joanna bypassed the streets entirely, teleporting the trio straight to the next designated site on their tactical triangle-another skeletal,

andoned office high-rise.

They materialized inside a dark, cavernous lobby littered with shattered glass. RJ didn’t wait for a command. She stepped forward, closed her eyes, and projected a heavy psychic broadcast deep into the upper floors of the building.

Moments later, the heavy shuffling began. Dozens of fresh, low-level zombies began pouring down the stairwells, drawn by her irresistible mental siren song.

“Round two,” Briggs smirked, pulling another crate of explosives from Joanna’s open pocket dimension “Line up, ladies and gentlemen. Corporate orientation is back in session.”

Joanna tracked the fleeing cultists, her expression cold. “Leave them,” she muttered. “We stick to the plan

She turned back to the bank interior. “Rachel, call them down.”
