Jonna snorted and kicked her boots right onto his desk. She leaned back, perfectly relaxed, showing him

that his aggressive posturing was not going to intimidate her in the slightest.

Fletcher barked a short, incredulous laugh at her sheer audacity. He controlled almost all of Westridge how. His name brought fear and terror to the entire city. Over the winter, he had successfully cleared out blocks of zombies and, against all odds, completely wiped out most of his enemies. He was the undisputed king of

the area.

But not only had this little lady known exactly how it would all happen, he knew deep down that she was the one who had put him in this position of power. By ruthlessly killing off the Billings family the last time she was here, she had cleared his path to the top. The rest of the city assumed he was responsible for that massacre, and he gladly let them believe the rumor to build his terrifying reputation.

Yet, as she sat there smirking at him with her muddy boots on his clean desk, Fletcher got a cold reality check. He might rule Westridge, but if there was one apex predator in this room, it was her-the Demoness.

He sat down and let out a long, aggrieved sigh.

“Little Dove, seeing you look so lovely after the worst winter in history fills me with jealousy! I lost one of my toes and have nothing but scars on the rest of me. One-fourth of my men died, and the rest fought for a warm bowl of soup and a fire, yet here you are… perfectly glowing skin.”

Even though he sounded grumpy, his eyes were warm as he looked at her. He leaned back in his chair, the terrifying warlord persona completely fading as he stared at the woman who had redefined his entire survival.

Joanna smiled and chuckled. “You look a lot better than you did in my… vision of you. Both arms are completely intact, and you still have plenty of meat on your bones. In fact, that beard makes you look a bit like a young Santa Claus.”

Fletcher shot her a sharp glare, defensively running a hand through the thick hair on his chin. “This beard is majestic and fearsome!”

Joanna laughed out loud at his pride, finally taking her feet off his desk to lean forward, getting straight to business. “Now, tell me the exact trouble I caused.”

Fletcher’s expression turned serious again as he explained the fallout. “Once you completely wiped out the Billings family, a power vacuum opened up. Several other factions immediately tried to swoop in and take over their territory. I had to spend two long months of brutal, non-stop fighting just to kill them all off.”

Joanna blinked, secretly impressed by his efficiency. In her precognitive dreams of the original timeline, it had taken him years of grueling warfare to achieve that exact level of total dominance. Her intervention had unintentionally accelerated his rise to power.

“But it’s not over yet,” Fletcher continued, leaning in closer. “Now, there is only one more group left standing in Westridge. Rebekah Bolena runs it. She has an incredibly large number of fiercely loyal people under her command, which is exactly why it’s been so damn hard dealing with her.”

Joanna froze as the name clicked in her mind. Rebekah Bolena.

That was the exact woman Caleb had warned her about. If the timeline was aligning like she thought,

Rebekah would soon be getting heavily involved with Brandon-Caleb’s strange, obsessive cousin whom Joanna had rescued.

Joanna gave a mysterious smile. “I can help you with that problem. If you help me with mine.”

Fletcher paused, locking his eyes onto hers in absolute silence.

She continued, leaning closer to lay out her strategy. “Send Brandon to her on your behalf. Order him to work directly with her and establish boundaries between your territories. But more than that keep them in close contact. Within one year, they will probably want to marry, and you can control everything in Westridge after that.”

Fletcher snorted loudly, shaking his head at the suggestion. “Little Dove, did you completely forget how crazy that kid has been over you?”

He gestured wildly around his office to emphasize his point. “He broke into my room six different times trying to look for clues about where your base was! It was embarrassing! I literally had to beat him up the last time just to get him to leave my room alone. Brandon knows deep down he has no chance to be with you, but he still thinks about the day he can finally become a part of your team.”

Joanna frowned, thinking about the massive headache her team would face if they had to deal with Brandon. The mere thought of Julian and Brandon standing in the same room brought a trickle of cold sweat to her neck. She swallowed nervously, the vision of that disaster playing out in her mind.
