Chapter 311 Will’s Deadly Power

finally peeked out from behind his hands. Spotting Joanna, a highly misplaced, incredibly smug grin spread across his pale face. He lowered his hands, leaning back against the cushions with the unearned confidence of a king.
“Boss,” Will said, his voice dropping an octave as he tried to sound profoundly mysterious. “While you were gone… I awakened my power. The black vines have unlocked something truly magnificent within me.”
Joanna blinked. She looked at his pale face, then at the terrified team cowering in the kitchen, and back to Will. She genuinely felt like she had stepped into a completely different dimension while she was downstairs dealing with Brad.
“Uh… congratulations?” Joanna said, her voice laced with deep, utter confusion.
Kailee took a small step forward from the kitchen island, hands raised defensively. “Will, honey… sweetie… why don’t you go back to the hot spring? Just for a little bit. Please.”
Once Will gave a dramatic sigh and closed his eyes to contemplate his newfound greatness, Kailee eagerly turned to Joanna, her nervous expression fracturing.
“Boss, Briggs was teasing him about the whole bridal carry thing,” Kailee whispered frantically. “And then…. Will farted. He let a big one rip, boss! A massive one!”
RJ, who had just stepped up behind Joanna after being pulled into the space, scoffed loudly. She crossed her arms, looking around the room with judgment. “Is that really something to be scared of? It’s a fart. Grow up.”
The entire kitchen crew slowly, systematically turned their heads to look at RJ in dead silence.
Julian’s eyes were wide with genuine, lingering trauma. He leaned in and hissed at RJ, “He farted pure poison! It was a chemical weapon!”
“It’s true,” Briggs choked out, taking another desperate gulp of his water, his hair still dripping wet. “I smelled it and instantly collapsed! My nervous system shut down! They literally had to throw me into the healing spring to save my life, and honestly? I almost died in there.”
“His power is farting… poison?” Joanna looked at Will, her brain struggling to bridge the gap between the life-threatening black vines and whatever biomechanical disaster had just occurred in her living room.
Will quickly shook his head, looking mildly offended. “Not really, boss. I can emit poison from anywhere. A mist, or a spray. One spritz is all it takes.”
Caleb spoke up softly from the edge of the kitchen, rubbing his temples as he fully processed the situation. “Huh. I didn’t see that coming… and I am the dream weaver.”
Joanna still looked deeply confused, the sheer logistics of a toxic gas superpower weighing heavily on her tactical mind. “Yeah, but poison won’t stop zombies, Will. They’re already dead.”
That immediately deflated him. The smug, mysterious aura vanished in an instant, and Will slouched back into the couch cushions, suddenly looking very small.
“Oh…” Will mumbled, his face falling as he stared blankly at the coffee table. “Huh. I didn’t think about that.”

RJ spoke up, completely destroying whatever dignity Will had left. “Yeah, Will. That power sucks, especially
ce you are basically the pied piper for zombies.”
Will looked absolutely heartbroken, letting out a deep, tragic sigh that shook his entire frame. He turned his eyes toward the kitchen, fishing for some sympathy from his close friend.
“Kailee… you said you would always be here to hug me, remember?” Will got up from the couch and started crossing the floor toward her, his arms slightly open. “I think I need a hug.”
Kailee paled instantly and practically scrambled backward, using Joanna as a human shield. She was completely in love with him, but she wasn’t about to risk a face full of toxic mist for a cuddle. “Not right now, Will! Maybe after you go soak a little more!”
Joanna was officially done with this conversation. The sheer absurdity of managing a human skunk who just wanted affection was giving her a headache.
“Will, sit down!” Joanna commanded, her voice dropping into her absolute authority tone. “Everyone, at the kitchen table. Now.”
The team snapped to attention, the panic vanishing as they scrambled to take their seats around the large wooden table.
As soon as everyone was seated, Joanna pulled a complete hot pot setup straight out of her storage space. Within ten minutes, everything was ready to go. A rich, fiery spicy broth bubbled fiercely in the center of the table, sending up plumes of aromatic steam that completely covered any lingering anxiety in the room. Surrounding the burner was a massive spread of thinly sliced meat and fresh vegetables that she had kept perfectly preserved in her pocket dimension.
The team stared at the feast, their mouths watering as the comforting heat of the meal filled the villa’s dining area. Even Will seemed to perk up slightly at the sight of the food, temporarily forgetting his zombie-luring, poison-emitting existential crisis.
Joanna picked up her chopsticks, gesturing to the bubbling pot. “Eat up. We have a long talk ahead of us, and an early morning tomorrow.”
Everyone dug in. Even Briggs started eating, though he couldn’t resist casting sulky pouts across the table toward Will, who was deliberately looking anywhere else. The spicy, bubbling broth filled the villa with warmth, a stark contrast to the freezing, dangerous apartment complex waiting for them outside.
Joanna dipped a slice of meat into the broth and looked over to Caleb. “Caleb, what did you find? Do you know the mole?”
Caleb set his chopsticks down and replied softly. “You figured out Brad right? He was the one spying on you guys.”
Briggs spoke up around a mouthful of food. “I thought the mole was Edward.”
Caleb shook his head.
Briggs swallowed and continued, “So it’s Brad? He looks like an old soldier playing as a King.”
“It’s not either of them,” Joanna spoke up, her voice calm and measured.
