Hesigned his name with a swift, practiced stroke. Joanna stepped forward, pulling a small silver pin from her pocket. She pricked Glacier’s finger, and the moment a single drop of blood hit the paper, the restriction broke. The deep, massive consciousness of her spatial storage space opened up directly to

Glacier’s mind..

His eyes went wide and perfectly round with shock. “Your space is incredible, Demoness!”

Still slightly annoyed by the chaotic meeting, Joanna sighed and shook her head. “Yeah, well I am bringing you in. Lunch is on me. Tell your men not to disturb you.”

Glacier quickly keyed his walkie-talkie to give his men the brief order before setting it down. A minute later, Joanna waved her hand, expanding her spatial energy to pull everyone out of the freezing office and straight into her personal paradise.

The sudden shift was breathtaking. The endless, fertile expanses of her storage space stretched out under a warm, perfect sky. Briggs, RJ, and Kailee immediately headed toward the open-air kitchen area to start prepping lunch, comfortably familiar with the routine.

Joanna led Glacier on a quiet tour of the grounds. She brought him to the pristine, flowing spring and handed him a cup, letting him try her revitalizing water. He drank it down, his posture visibly relaxing as the pure energy washed away his exhaustion. As she showed him rows upon rows of vibrant, fresh vegetables and trees heavy with real fruit, Glacier stopped walking..

Tears suddenly came to his eyes, glistening under the bright sky of the space. The feared, ruthless ruler of the ice palace looked completely vulnerable as he stared at the flourishing green leaves.

“I thought I would never see this again,” Glacier whispered, his voice cracking slightly. “A peaceful life. Greenery.”

Julian tossed him a mind link watch, breaking the heavy silence, and quickly explained its tracking and communication features. They continued their tour toward the massive storage warehouse, and as they walked, Glacier visibly lost his rigid, icy demeanor. He looked around at the impossible abundance surrounding them, completely overwhelmed.

“You are not the demoness,” Glacier murmured, turning his gaze back to her with a look of profound realization. “You have an answer to this hell.”

Joanna felt a sudden shift in the air as the contract’s blood bond tightened between them, a deep, unshakeable layer of mutual trust snapping firmly into place. Her lingering annoyance finally evaporated.

“You can call me Boss like they do, or Joanna,” she said, her voice softening. “And I can call you…”

She hesitated for a split second, remembering his actual name. There was absolutely no way she was ever going to call the feared ruler of the ice palace ‘Glenn.’

Joanna reached out, grabbing his hand firmly, and offered him her first real, genuine smile since they had met. “I am calling you Glacier.”

The meal that awaited them at the long wooden table completely stole the breath from Glacier’s lungs. In a world starved of everything but gray snow, processed rations, and despair, the table practically groaned under the weight of a vibrant, steaming feast.

The centerpiece was a massive, golden-brown roasted turkey, its skin perfectly crisped and glistening with a ch-glaze, surrounded by roasted root vegetables that smelled faintly of rosemary and fresh garlic. Beside it sandeep bowls of fluffy, white mashed potatoes pooled with savory gravy, and a platter of thick, pan-seared steaks that were so tender they practically fell apart at the touch of a fork.

What truly made Glacier stare, however, was the color. There were platters piled high with crisp green beans tossed in butter, sweet cars of bright yellow corn, and a massive salad filled with leafy greens, dark red tomatoes, and crisp cucumbers that looked like they had been picked only minutes ago. A basket of warm, braided bread sat to the side, steam rising gently from the center when Briggs tore a piece away.

For dessert, the team had laid out bowls of fresh, glossy strawberries, deep purple grapes, and slices of deep-dish apple pie that filled the air with the scent of cinnamon and baked sugar. Pitchers of ice-cold revitalizing water and fresh fruit juices sat between the dishes, sweating condensation in the pleasant warmth of the space.

It wasn’t just food; it was an impossible display of life and luxury that felt entirely alien to the apocalypse

outside.

Glacier barely stopped himself from acting like a starving dog at the table. He kept his movements measured, but every single bite he took was undeniably the best food he had tasted in years. The intense flavors of fresh herbs, real meat, and crisp vegetables exploded on his tongue, working in tandem with the revitalizing energy of the space to soothe aches he hadn’t even realized he was carrying.

Despite the incredible feast, Glacier couldn’t entirely lower his guard. He kept a very wary eye on Mr. Bubbles, who sat comfortably on Joanna’s lap throughout the entire lunch. The mutant tabby purred like a low-rolling engine, happily chewing on pieces of turkey that Joanna fed him. Glacier looked down at the cat, then back to his plate, completely unsure if he was more terrified of that deceptively cuddly mutant feline or the massive plant snoring loudly in the back of the villa.
