Chapter 74 Bringing Jolie into the storage space

wh a wave of Jeanna’s hand, the reality of the dark warehouse dissolved, replaced instantly by the breathtaking expanse of the spatial dimension. Jolie staggered slightly as her boots touched lush, vibrant grass. She spun in a slow circle, her mind racing as she visually matched the stunning environment with the downloaded memories now sitting in her mind.
“Boss… it’s one thing to know it from the bond, but seeing it like this?” Jolie breathed, completely blown away. “This is unreal.”
Joanna smiled softly, leading the way forward. “Come on. Let’s look at the layout.”
They walked through a sprawling garden that looked like an agricultural paradise. Rows of vibrant, healthy vegetables stretched out into the distance, bordered by heavily laden fruit trees bending under the weight of crisp apples, peaches, and citrus. Beyond the cultivated crops, the landscape transitioned smoothly into a vast, open pasture perfectly suited for livestock.
“We need to set up the pens and housing area over there near the pasture,” Joanna said, pointing out across the empty green field. “We’ll set the heavy metal posts and fencing up right here to make secure pens for the animals you secured at the other warehouse.”
“Perfect. It’ll be a lot safer to assemble it in here without any prying eyes,” Jolie agreed, her eyes darting over the terrain.
As they walked further, the sound of gently rushing water filled the air, leading them to a crystal-clear, bubbling spring. The water shimmered with a faint, pristine aura. Jolie stopped dead in her tracks, looking from the pool to Joanna, a spark of sudden realization hitting her.
“Wait a second,” Jolie said, pointing a finger at the spring. “Is this the water you had us drink after our intense workouts?”
“Yes,” Joanna confirmed with a slight nod.
Jolie whistled low, shaking her head. “I’ll send you the official, formalized data report later tonight, but the real-world results are insane. After drinking this water, the team’s recovery times cut exactly in half after our brutal training and fighting sessions. On top of that, after a few days of drinking it consistently, everyone noticed they could train significantly longer and hit much harder without burning out.”
Joanna’s eyes brightened, highly pleased with the tactical validation. “Good to know. If it’s giving us that kind of edge, I’ll make sure the entire team gets this water as a permanent staple from now on.”
Suddenly, a series of sharp, echoey barks cut through the serene atmosphere, originating from the direction of a grand structure nestled on a small hill in the distance.
Joanna looked toward the sound, her expression softening. “Oh, he’s up.”
Jolie chuckled, a teasing grin spreading across her face. “Sounds like you got yourself a real ferocious beast guarding the estate, Boss.”
“I found him abandoned up on the mountain during that terrible storm when I was out with Julian,” Joanna explained softly as they walked toward the house.
They stepped onto the porch and entered the villa. Jolie paused in the doorway, momentarily stunned by

the gorgeous, high-end interior and the elegant architecture of the space. Before she could comment on the design, a small, orange-and-white blur came tearing down the hallway toward them, barking with fierce
vado.
Despite the loud noises, the little corgi was still noticeably emaciated, his ribs tracing faint lines along his matted fur. Joanna stopped and held her hand low, watching the pup carefully as he skidded to a halt a few feet away, his tail tucked slightly but his ears alert
“He’s still terrified of people,” Joanna noted quietly. “He went through a lot. He just needs a safe place to resy and time to learn how to trust human beings again.”
Jolie’s expression softened into deep empathy. “I get that.” Crouching down until she was at eye level with the dog, she reached into her tactical pocket and pulled out a small strip of turkey jerky. She tore off a tiny piece and held it out on her flat palm, keeping her movements incredibly slow and deliberate.
“Hey there, buddy,” Jolie murmured in a low, gentle voice. “Smell this. It’s way better than whatever you were eating on that mountain.”
The corgi stopped barking, his nose twitching frantically. He took a hesitant, trembling step forward, his big ears pinning back. After a tense few seconds, he darted forward, gently snagged the turkey jerky from her hand, and scarfed it down.
Smiling, Jolie moved her hands with extreme care, sliding them under the little dog’s chest and belly to lift him up. The corgi gave a small, anxious whimper, his body tensing, but he didn’t snap, growl, or lash out. He simply tucked his head against her arm, seeking the warmth.
“Boss, let me help with this pup,” Jolie said, cradling the small dog close to her chest. “I’ve got a knack for rehabilitating animals, and I can work with him between our training sessions. He’ll be a part of team in no time.”
