Rising From Betrayal Reborn As The Family Outcast novel Chapter 115

Chapter 115

When Jeu heard Nicole’s words, he couldn’t help but look surprised.

“Oh, you’re sick?” he asked.

He sounded genuinely concerned. “Are you still going to join the shoot today?”

Nicole replied, “I’m really not feeling well. I’d like the show’s doctor to check on me.

“If I actually have a fever, I won’t join the shoot today.”

Marley immediately asked the doctor to check on Nicole.

After taking her temperature, it turned out Nicole had a fever.

Nicole apologized, saying she couldn’t join the shoot today.

Since Nicole was sick, of course Marley couldn’t make her keep filming.

So he told her to rest up at her place.

Since they were one person short, it made it hard to swap members between teams.

So Marley teamed up Jett, Nicolas, and Caleb, and sent them to wander around the village looking for business opportunities.

Simon’s team and Alicia’s team split up to do their own thing.

Alicia took Landon up the mountain to check out the wild tea, and they found there was quite a lot growing there.

After their visit, they headed to the village office to talk to some of the village leaders.

They learned that nobody actually comes to buy this wild mountain tea-the villagers just pick it themselves and make their own tea to drink.

Alicia had a plan forming in her mind, but she kept it to herself for now.

Instead, Alicia made sure she was off-camera before reaching out to lan privately.

She asked him to check with the big client to see if it would be okay for her to livestream the medical consultation.

Livestreaming was the only way to really hype up the wild mountain tea and get people interested.

It didn’t take long for Ian to get back to her.

The big client agreed to let her livestream the consultation.

But there was a catch-Alicia had to check first if she could actually help.

If she wasn’t sure she could pull it off, then that would be the end of it, and the livestream would be off the table.

Alicia agreed and discussed it with the production team.

Since the big client wasn’t able to travel, their team had to visit him for the treatment.

This was a huge draw for the show, and with Jason-the money man-throwing his support behind it, Marley was totally on board

During the livestream. Marley let everyone know that Alicia had already spotted a business opportunity for Greenpeak Village.

But first, she needed to treat a client-if she succeeded, then they’d have a shot at the next step.

Most viewers had never seen a medical consultation livestreamed before, so they were all hyped to watch.

That day. Alicia, Landon, and Jason left Greenpeak Village and headed to the big client’s place.

While they were on the road, their group’s livestream was put on hold.

The other two groups kept searching for business opportunities.

Simon and Hannah noticed that some villagers were really talented at wicker weaving, so they decided to help spread the word about it.

Nicolas, Caleb, and Jett spent most of the day exploring the village and discovered that some locals were raising mountain chickens-free-range birds that roamed the forest.

They quickly realized the area’s natural environment was perfect for raising these chickens.

After chatting with the villagers, they brought one back and asked the production crew to help them make a chicken stew.

The three of them fumbled around for hours before finally sitting down to enjoy some chicken soup and tender meat.

It tasted incredible, so they decided to spread the word and help promote it.

With Nicole calling in sick and Alicia’s crew heading out of town, the usual four-way team showdown was put on hold today.

That evening, Alicia and her crew arrived at the hotel where the big client was staying.

Since hospital treatment hadn’t worked and the client really couldn’t stand the hospital environment, he chose to rest and recover at the hotel instead.

His secretary led Alicia and the others inside.

Since the livestream hadn’t started yet, Alicia gave the client an initial check-up first.

Confidently, Alicia told him, “I can treat your illness, and you’ll see results today.”

The big client, barely able to sit up in bed, managed a weak smile. “Guess I’ll have to count on you then.”

He nodded, giving the go-ahead to start the livestream.

Soon, their team’s livestream went live.

Not only did a flood of viewers join in, but Nicolas and the guys all started streaming it on their phones.

Collin and Kevin were watching too-they jumped into the livestream as soon as the notification popped up.

Then the big client’s secretary appeared on camera.

He gave everyone a rundown of his boss’s condition.

“After his fever went down, he started having insomnia, got really irritable, lost his appetite, and ended up badly constipated, the secretary explained.

“Once the constipation was resolved, he’s been having severe vomiting these past few days.

“He still doesn’t want to eat, and if he forces anything down-even just water-he throws it up right away.

“Today, he hasn’t been able to eat or drink anything at all.”

For the past few days, the boss has only been getting by on IV drips for nutrition. If this keeps up, his body won’t be able to handle it much longer.

Alicia pulled out some wild mountain tea she’d brought from Greenpeak Village. “This is easy to fix. Just brew a pot and drink a cup, that’s all it takes.”

The big client, looking pale and barely able to sit up in bed, said, “It’s not just food-I can’t even keep water down.”

He said, “You want me to drink tea to cure this? Are you serious right now?”

He’d only agreed because Alicia said she could fix him up.

Who would’ve thought her so-called cure would be something this crazy?

He thought, ‘A cup of tea to cure what no doctor could? That just sounds totally unbelievable. How could anyone buy that?’

Alicia smiled. “I’m not kidding. Trust me, just try it and you’ll see.”

She added, “Give it an hour after you drink, and you’ll see results.”

The big client thought for a moment. “Alright, let’s give it a shot.”

He still thought the idea of tea curing him was ridiculous.

But he felt so awful right now that if it really worked in an hour, he was desperate enough to give it a try.

If Alicia was just playing him for a fool, he’d drop the whole partnership with Ian in a heartbeat, no matter what he’d promised before.

Alicia had brought all her tea gear with her, so she started brewing right there on the spot.

Before long, the rich, fragrant aroma of the tea filled the room.

The big client, half-lying in bed, breathed in the soothing scent and felt his irritability fade away-he was already much calmer than before.

He couldn’t help but want a taste.

So he asked, “Is the tea ready yet?”

Alicia smiled. “Almost ready!”

Once the tea was brewed, she poured it into a clear glass, stood up, and handed it to him. “Here you go!”

The big client took the glass and examined the tea-it was a clear, luminous green with a touch of yellow.

As he brought it to his lips, the scent hit him even stronger. He blew on it gently and took small sips.

To his surprise, he didn’t throw up at all-he actually finished the whole cup.

“This is some good tea,” he said.

Just a moment after finishing the cup, he suddenly felt a craving for food.

He hadn’t had any appetite at all before, but now he was actually hungry-it was almost magical.

He knew for sure-his illness had really been cured by just one cup of tea.

His eyes were full of amazement as he looked at Alicia. “Dr. Delaney, you’re a miracle worker!”

Alicia smiled. “It’s really all thanks to this tea.”

Even though the big client was a foreigner, he drank tea regularly.

So when this tea actually cured him, he was amazed and became extremely interested in it.

Next, Alicia started talking to him about teaming up to export the tea.

Once the main deal was discussed, Alicia let the village officials who came with her take over and keep talking with the client.

How to develop the wild mountain tea, package it, and handle the export-that was all up to them now. Alicia left the business side to the others and didn’t get involved anymore.

The viewers watching the livestream were totally blown away by the way Alicia treated the client.

If it hadn’t been live, and if someone hadn’t explained the client’s real background, people would’ve totally called it fake.

Seeing the client’s color improve in real time was the only thing that made it believable.

It was straight-up miraculous.

Not just the big client-even the viewers were super interested in the wild mountain tea now.

They were all messaging the production team and the village, urging them to put it up for sale online so they could buy

some.

Plenty of people were praising Alicia, saying she was a total legend-just by treating one person, she’d managed to put Greenpeak Village’s wild mountain tea on the map.

After watching Alicia’s livestream-where she treated the client and put wild mountain tea on the map-Collin and the others had complicated emotions written all over their faces.

Kevin and Caleb felt a surge of pride in their hearts. “That’s our sister-she’s absolutely incredible, they thought.

But as soon as they remembered that Alicia had already cut ties with them, both brothers couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness.

In the guest house courtyard at Greenpeak Village.

After their own livestream wrapped up, Caleb watched Alicia’s broadcast, a bitter look on his face. ‘She really pulled it off… Why does it feel so complicated?’ he thought.

Caleb turned to Nicolas and said, “I need a drink.”

Nicolas muttered, “Yeah, I could use one too,” feeling just as down.

The two of them headed to the village store, grabbed a few bottles of booze, and went back to the courtyard to drink together.

After a while, they started to feel a bit tipsy.

The booze in the village was way stronger than what they were used to-totally different from their usual drinks.

At first, it didn’t hit them, but now they were getting woozy and uncomfortable.

They decided to call it a night and headed back to their rooms to crash.

Nicole had been watching them from her room the whole time.

Once she figured they’d had enough, she headed downstairs to the kitchen and made two cups of honey water.

Hannah and the others had found the honey earlier that day, so Nicole just used it.

She brought the cups out, looking genuinely concerned. “Why did you guys drink so much?”

She added, “I made you some honey water-drink up, it’ll help you sober up.”

She handed a cup to Caleb first, then passed the other one to Nicolas.

Nicole’s palms were sweaty as she gave it to him, feeling a wave of nerves. ‘Why am I so anxious right now?’ she thought.

Caleb and Nicolas, both a little drunk and dizzy, took the honey water without thinking and started drinking.

After finishing, they set the cups down on the table and, barely acknowledging Nicole, got up to head back to their rooms.

Nicole quickly moved to support Nicolas. “Let me walk you guys back.”

Nicolas wasn’t totally wasted.

He pulled his hand away from Nicole, a cold look on his face as he said, “No, I’m good.”

He went back to his room alone.

Caleb waved Nicole off too and headed to his room by himself.

Nicole watched Nicolas walk away, her eyes flashing with a look that said she wouldn’t take no for an answer.

“Today, I have to succeed,’ she told herself.
