Nicolas’s mother frowned. “I don’t know either, so I’m heading to Greenpeak Village first thing tomorrow to get the truth from Nicole and Jett.

“No matter what, we have to find out who mixed that drug.

“I’m not buying Mavis’s story either. I’ve got my best bodyguards tailing her, just in case.”

Whoever mixed that drug was the only chance their son had left to ever have kids.

Nicolas’s father nodded. “That’s all we can do. Tomorrow, I’ll keep the heat on the Hammond family and make sure they’re helping us track that person down.”

Nicolas felt a wave of guilt and sadness seeing his parents so worried about him.

He really regretted it now. He never should’ve let his guard down and treated Nicole like a sister.

If he’d just kept his distance and acted colder toward her, she probably never would’ve even thought of pulling something like this.
