Over an hour later, the production team sent a car to take Nicole to the airport.

The live stream kicked off for the day.

The six guests showed up on camera.

Marley was speechless. ‘These two are just too spoiled,’ he thought.

Caleb said, “Let’s reshuffle the teams, or we can each join one of the other two groups.”

Jett chimed in, “I’m all for reshuffling.

“Didn’t some viewers ask for the guests to switch teams before? Let’s just do it today.”

Marley thought it over. “Alright, let’s switch up the teams.

“You two will draw lots. Whoever you pick, that’s your new teammate.

“The remaining two will automatically be a team.”

Alicia and the other three didn’t have any objections to this plan.

Caleb stepped forward first. “I’ll go first.”

Jett rolled his eyes and stayed silent.

Marley mixed up the slips of paper with the other four guests’ names and placed them in a bowl for Caleb to pick from.

Caleb kept chanting in his mind, ‘Please let it be Alicia!’

He grabbed a slip, opened it, and instantly looked sick.

Everyone looked over, and Landon looked just as miserable.

Both of them thought at the same time, ‘Seriously? I ended up with this guy? What rotten luck.

Seeing Caleb’s result, Jett burst out laughing. “You got paired with your arch-nemesis, Caleb. Man, you really drew the short

straw.”

Caleb shot him a glare. “Go draw yours already.”

Jett stepped up, grabbed a slip, and looked genuinely surprised when he opened it.

He waved the slip at Alicia. “Alicia, I’m counting on you to look after me today.”

Caleb’s face turned even darker when he saw Jett had ended up with Alicia.

If he hadn’t seen this nutcase draw it himself, he’d have suspected Jett was cheating.

Alicia looked surprised too, clearly not expecting to be paired with Jett. “Alright, I’ll have your back today.”

She couldn’t shake the feeling that this was exactly what Jett wanted.

There was no way he ended up with her by accident. He definitely had an agenda.

She was just going to watch and see what kind of tricks he’d pull.

After splitting into three teams, everyone went back to hustling their get-rich schemes from before.

Alicia took Jett up the mountain to check out the wild tea.

Jett wasn’t as fit as Alicia, so he was already out of breath after just a short climb and asked to stop for a break.

Seeing Alicia looking totally unfazed, he sat down and sighed, “Alicia, you can really tell you’ve trained. You’re built tough.”

Alicia crossed her arms and looked at him. “You’re just out of shape.”

“This guy’s not just a mental mess, he’s physically weak too,’ she thought.

Jett looked speechless. “You can’t say that about a guy.”

Alicia rolled her eyes and didn’t bother to respond.

After resting for a bit, Jett got up and kept climbing.

By the fifth break, they were almost at the top.

Jett looked at Alicia and pointed to a nearby hillside. “Those wildflowers over there look really pretty. Let’s go pick some.”

He’s definitely up to something. No way he actually cares about wildflowers-he’s finally making his move, Alicia thought.

So she didn’t refuse. “Sure.”

They walked over together, with the cameraman trailing behind.

The wildflowers really were gorgeous.

There was a cluster of bright red wildflowers growing right at the edge of the hillside. Jett bent down to pick them.

Suddenly, he slipped and was about to tumble down the slope.

Right away, Alicia knew what he was up to. She reached out, grabbed him, and went along with his plan, letting herself fall

She’d checked out the terrain earlier. As long as they were careful, they’d only end up with a few scrapes.

The production crew was startled when they saw the two of them tumble down the hillside.

The viewers watching the live stream were freaked out too, all shouting for the crew to hurry and go save them.

Once they reached the bottom of the slope. Alicia brushed the dust off her clothes.

Seeing Jett all covered in dirt and grimacing in pain. Alicia raised an eyebrow. “If I hadn’t grabbed you and gone down with you, your whole performance would’ve been wasted”

He definitely did that on purpose just to get away from the cameras and everyone else, Alicia thought

Hearing her words, Jett sat on the ground and raised an eyebrow back at her. “No wonder you’re Alicia. You catch on fast.”

Alicia crossed her arms and looked at him. “Alright, spill it. What are you really up to?”

Jett let out a light laugh. “Why so impatient?”

Alicia rolled her eyes. “We’re not exactly friends, so don’t expect me to be patient with you.”

Jett’s mouth twitched. “You’re getting more and more straightforward.”

He held out his arm to Alicia and sighed. “Just see for yourself. I can’t put it into words.”

Alicia got what he meant, sat down next to him, and carefully checked his pulse.

She realized that this time, his inner conflict was even worse than before. “I’ll need to use a few needles to really figure out what’s going on.”

Jett just lay back and said. “Go ahead, do whatever you need.”

Alicia felt a bit exasperated, but she took off her bracelet, flipped a switch, and poured out a few sterilized gold needles.

She placed them into several key acupoints on his body.

After about three minutes, she checked his pulse again, and her face showed clear surprise.

“You’ve been drugged, and someone hit you with a psychological suggestion,” she said.

Now she finally understood why his inner struggle was so intense.

He was using sheer willpower to fight against the psychological suggestion and control.

From the looks of it, he’d managed to resist, but on the outside, he just seemed mentally unstable.

He was acting crazy like a lunatic-not just to vent, but probably to put on a show for whoever was trying to control him.

When Jett saw that Alicia had figured out what was wrong with him, he couldn’t help but let out a huge sigh of relief.

He turned to her, looking unusually serious. “I knew I picked the right person”

Alicia asked, “So, because of the psychological suggestion, you can’t say what you really think?”

Jett nodded. “Yeah.”

Alicia said, “Alright, I’ll ask the questions, and you just answer yes or no.”

Jett was thinking the same thing. “Okay.”

Alicia asked, “Is the person controlling you with psychological suggestion the miracle doctor who cured you?”

Jett looked genuinely surprised. “Yeah, you even noticed that?”

Alicia smiled. “You’ve been chasing after Nicole for years, and everyone says you’re head over heels for her, always doing. whatever she wants.

“But honestly, I never really saw you act like you were actually into her.”

Ever since this variety show started, Jett’s blunt comments kept landing Nicole in hot water.

But to everyone else, it never looked intentional-he just came off as your typical clueless guy.

And with all his crazy antics over the years, his family and friends have all been burned by him at some point. People just thought he was a total weirdo, so nobody ever suspected he was actually trying to mess with Nicole.

Honestly, Jett’s acting was next-level.

Alicia figured out that someone told Jett to look after Nicole, but he kept ‘accidentally’ making things worse for her.

Which meant, deep down, he probably couldn’t stand Nicole. Maybe he even hated her.

And with his background, he didn’t need to suck up to Nicole or the Hammond family, so he must’ve been forced into it.
