Jason raised an eyebrow at Alicia’s greeting.

“Yeah, it’s been a while,” he said.

Alicia let out a soft laugh. “Maybe that’s just how fate works.”

Jason snorted, “If you ask me, it’s more like a twisted fate.”

He still remembered that time when Alicia pinned him down and beat him up when they were young.

After that, Jason asked his grandpa to send him to a military camp for two summers, and he even started learning free combat.

When he went abroad, he picked up taekwondo and boxing.

Back then, he was determined to challenge Alicia again and reclaim his pride.

But after he returned home, he never got the chance to run into her.

He’d gotten a lot tougher, but after the car accident, he’s had trouble walking ever since.

Alicia shrugged. “Even a twisted fate still brought us together, right?”

She asked, “Mr. Farrell, your assistant called to ask if I was considering joining your company. Let’s talk about it.”

Jason knew she was about to get down to business as soon as she started calling him “Mr. Farrell“.

He said, “Yeah, I saw all that drama you’ve been causing on X.

“I also heard Thomas is digging up evidence that Starlight Entertainment hasn’t fulfilled its contract with you.

“I figured you might be looking to break free from Starlight, so I thought I’d see if you’d be interested in joining Lucent Media.”

He added with a meaningful look, “But honestly, I didn’t expect you to show up in person after just one call.”

He was genuinely surprised.

After all, Alicia had always looked out for Nicolas ever since they were kids.

Nicolas was basically the heir of Starlight Entertainment, so if Alicia broke her contract and switched companies, that’d basically mean she was cutting ties with him.

That was the main reason Jason had his assistant reach out to her.

Alicia knew exactly what he was getting at.

She didn’t beat around the bush. “I’ve already severed ties with the Hammonds a couple of days ago, and with Collin, Maxwell, and Nicolas too.

“I know you’ve been going after the Moore family, and honestly, I’m sick of both the Hammonds and the Moores myself.

“So I think we could work together.”

Jason’s mother was his father, Adam’s second wife.

Thirty years ago, Adam was notorious in their circle for being a total simp.

After a lot of twists and turns, he finally managed to win over the woman he was obsessed with, who happened to be Nicolas’s aunt.

But unfortunately, after she gave birth to a son, she passed away just a few years later.

In most families, when the father remarried, he usually ended up distancing himself from his kids, just like Alicia’s father did.

But that wasn’t how things worked in the Farrell family.

Adam truly loved his first wife, and after she passed away, he poured all that love into the son she’d given him.

Jason’s mother came from the elite Atkinson family, and she was famous in their circle for being totally love- obsessed, always chasing after Adam.

Once, when Farrell Group hit a rough patch, Jason’s mother made the first move and reached out to Adam.

She offered to get her family to bail him out, but only if he agreed to marry her.

Adam said yes, married Jason’s mother, and they ended up having two sons with her.

In most families, when the father remarried, he usually ended up distancing himself from his kids, just like Alicia’s father did.

But in the Farrell family, it was different. His birth father didn’t care about him.

Two years ago, Jason and his older brother got into a car crash.

Jason’s brother died instantly, sacrificing himself to shield Jason.

It looked like the Hammonds and Nicolas had really broken Alicia’s heart, all because of Nicole.

Jason smirked, “So, you want to team up with me as fellow victims now?”

Alicia grinned, “Yep, that’s exactly my plan.”

She got up, walked over to Jason, and offered her hand. “Mr. Farrell, looking forward to our partnership.”

Jason snorted, “Pretty sure I haven’t agreed yet.”

Alicia arched her brows. “Would you really say no to me?”

Jason reached out his hand. “Nope, I wouldn’t. Looking forward to.”

Jason thought, ‘If I want to take down Starlight Entertainment, Alicia’s the perfect entry point.

Alicia shook his hand. “I knew you wouldn’t.”

Alicia thought, ‘If I want to break free from Starlight and those people, Jason’s the best place to start.

Her gaze swept over Jason’s legs. “Let me heal your legs as a token of my sincerity for this partnership.”

Jason stared at her, stunned. “You can heal my legs?”

Alicia’s grandpa was a nationally renowned master of traditional medicine, known for handling even the toughest and most complicated cases. Too bad he’d already passed away.

Jason knew Alicia had been learning medicine from her grandpa since she was little, and he’d heard she had a real gift for it.

But even after she got into the entertainment business in her last life, she never gave up on studying medicine.

After she quit the industry on her own terms, she devoted herself entirely to traditional medicine and became an expert in the unique acupuncture method her grandpa’s family had handed down for generations.

She even pieced together the lost sections of an ancient book of secret remedies.

Later, she built up her connections by treating people and teamed up with Jason. Together, they went up against the Hammonds, Delaneys, and Moores, stirring up trouble wherever they could.

Jason arched his brows. “Seriously? You think this isn’t a big deal?”

After the accident left him unable to walk, he’d tried everything. He visited the best hospitals, both in the country and overseas.

They all said the same thing: there was no hope. He’d be in a wheelchair for life.

And now, Alicia actually said it was no big deal.

Alicia grinned, “Honestly, this is an easy task for me. If you trust me, I’ll heal you”

Then she asked, “So, are you in? Want to give it a shot?”

Jason didn’t even hesitate. “Of course, I want you to treat me.”

His legs were already like this. Letting her try couldn’t possibly make things worse.

Alicia knew he wouldn’t turn her down. She said, “Just send me your address. Once I’ve wrapped up the contract stuff, I’ll come over for your regular acupuncture sessions.

“You’ll have to handle getting the herbs for the baths yourself. Make sure you have them on hand when we start.”

Jason nodded. “Sure.”

Then he pulled out his phone. “Let’s swap contacts. I’ll send you my address.”

Alicia took out her phone and exchanged info with him.

Jason thought for a moment, then said, “Doesn’t matter if my legs get better or not. Once you leave Starlight for Lucent Media, I’m taking you under my wing myself.”

He was dead set on making Alicia a superstar and crushing everyone who ever tried to mess with her.

Surprise flickered across Alicia’s face.

Then she grinned, “Wow, the CEO himself as my agent? Guess I really hit the jackpot.”

She added confidently, “Trust me. I’ll get you back on your feet for sure.”

With Jason’s power and all the resources at Lucent Media, having him take her under his wing personally would make things way easier for her.

Of course, she wasn’t about to turn that down.

They talked over what each of them planned to do next, and only then did Alicia get up and head out.

Even the penalty for breaking the contract early got chopped down to just a third of what it was supposed to
