“I thought you bived me. You said gould be your Lana. You told me she was nothing a whore! That you only wanted her for her magic. You promised me you’d leave her for me. I loved you, Lucian I believed you!” Her words caree in a torrent of despair, her sobs punctuating her confession.
I stepped closer to the bars, my eyes locking onto hers with unrelenting intensity. My voice was low and steady, each word hitting like a hammer. “I lied.”
Her sobs faltered as she froze, her breath hitching.
“There was never a time I would have left my mate for you. And deep down, you knew it,” I continued, my tone sharp as a blade. “You were just too gready. too ambitious, too selfish to see the truth. Maybe there was a fleeting moment I considered it, but when I realized it wouldn’t work, I didn’t string you along. I let you go. I told you the truth.”
Her face crumbled further, but I pressed on, unwilling to offer her even a sliver of mercy.
“And how did you respond? With anger and jealousy. You set my mate up, orchestrating her disgrace with your false witnesses. You poured poison into her drink. You spread rumors, trying to humiliate her, to force her to react. You pushed and schemed, hoping she’d leave, hoping she’d fail. But even if Scarlett had left, even if she had cheated on me, there’s one thing you need to understand.”
I leaned in closer, my voice a quiet growl. “I would never come back to you. I would never want you.”
Her tears fell silently now as she stared at me, her face a portrait of devastation. I watched her wipe her cheeks, her trembling hands betraying the anger she was struggling to hold back.
“You’re nothing to me, Stasia,” I added, my voice cold and final. “And you never will be.”
Her silence was the sweetest victory, and I savoured the broken expression on her face. There was no forgiveness for what she had done, and I intended to
make sure she understood that fully.
“I didn’t do anything like that. I did not commit treason!” Stasia cried, her voice trembling as she tried to defend herself. “Bianca and whoever you spoke to
lied! Yes, I was jealous. Yes, I was angry, but I never did those things!”
Her desperation was palpable, but I wasn’t moved. Instead, I smirked coldly, the fire of my anger barely contained. “And what about being Garland’s informant?” I asked, my voice cutting through her sobs.
Her face paled, and she shook her head frantically. “I had no choice! It was either I told him what he wanted, or he would kill me. You were hunting me, Lucian! I couldn’t stay here. I had to protect myself!” she pleaded, her hands reaching out as if to cling to me.
“So you sold the North out for your safety?” I asked, my voice low and biting.
Tears streamed down her face as she grabbed the fabric of my shirt, her voice breaking. “Please! I had no choice! You have to understand!”
I pulled back slightly, letting her hands fall away. “So you’re saying you didn’t willingly go to Garland to sell us out, just like you didn’t tell Olsen these things?” My tone was laced with disdain.
She nodded, her tears falling freely now. “I didn’t! I swear!”
I took a step closer, towering over her as I delivered the final blow. “Olsen is in custody,” I said, watching as her eyes widened in panic. “Scarlett found him and brought him back. And as for the East? Garland himself told us what you did.”
The shock on her face was instantaneous. Whatever lies she had prepared were caught in her throat, her mouth opening and closing without a sound. The

Her lips quivered, but no words came. She couldn’t deny it anymore.
“I dodged a bullet with you, Staria,” 1 Aaid, my voice steady be filled with disgust. “I ato “essed beyond measure that I was never tied so someone like yes.
But make no mistake you won’t walk away from this unscathed.”
Her tears turned to sobs, and she began to weep openly, her shoulders shaking. I signaled to the guards, my decision made. “She’ll get the same treatment Scarlett received,” I said, my voice cold and resolute. “Let’s see how she manages. Fortunately for her, she has a wolf, which means she’ll survive. And that
means we can repeat the punishment as often as needed.”
Stasia’s sobs turned to wails as the guards moved to follow my orders. Her cries echoed through the hall, but I felt no pity. This wasn’t vengeance-it was
justice. Retribution for the pain she had caused.
“Please, please, Lucian!” she begged, her voice breaking. “I love you! I did it all for love! I just wanted her out of the way so we could be together?”
I stopped, turning back to meet her tear-streaked face. “To be with me,” I said, my voice steady and dripping with conterapt, “you would destroy Clay and Maxwell, too. Because she doesn’t just belong to me, Stasía-she belongs to all three of us.”
She shook her head weakly, but the truth was undeniable. Stasia was nothing more than a selfish, conniving liar. She had never cared about anyone but
herself.
