Chapter 184
Anson squeezed my hand. “I’m in as long as you don’t push things too far.”
“Me too,” Caspian agreed.
River looked my way. “I’ll be able to read if her levels are getting low.”
I rolled my eyes. “I’ll tell you if they’re getting too low.” I turned to Knox and Vaughn. “Please?”
Vaughn grunted. “Fine.”
Knox let out a breath. “Not too much.”
I locked gazes with him. “I promise. A couple of tries and that’s it.”
He nodded and got to his feet.
We made our way outside to the back patio.
“Where do you want to do this?” Caspian asked.
“First, I need you guys.”
They all looked my way, surprise evident on their faces.
“We’ve said time and again that we’re all stronger together. I’ve been so focused on the prophecy saying I needed to be the one to end Kaleb, I lost sight of that. I think the only way I’m going to be able to break through his defenses is if our connection is strong.”
River smiled as he strode towards me. His hands framed my face and he pressed his lips to mine. The kiss was all River. That warm buzz of comfort and spark of sensation. His tongue stroked mine, making my belly tighten.
“Love you, Sen,” he whispered against my lips.
“Love you too.”
Anson moved in behind me, his lips trailing up my neck. “You’ve got this.”
I could feel his belief in me in his words.
Caspian came to my side, pressing a kiss to my temple. “I’ll never be happier to have my ass kicked.”

Chapter 184
I grinned and gave him a quick kiss.
Vaughn moved in next to Caspian. He leaned his forehead against mine, and I could feel the pulse of power in our connection. “We’re with you.”
“I know.”
My eyes lifted to Knox as he completed the circle around me. “You were made for this, Sen. You just have to believe
that.”
I let my eyes close for a moment, as I felt the strands of energy linking us together. They were stronger than ever since Vaughn had stopped holding himself back. For the first time, our bond truly felt complete. I had to trust that these connections, this bond of destiny, would be enough.
I opened my eyes and let out a breath. “I’m ready.”
Caspian moved in the direction of the forest then turned to face me. Lines of concentration creased his brow. “I’m
shielding this tree.” He pointed to a large trunk.
I nodded and stepped forward. Every other time, I’d gone with sheer force. But not now.
I closed my eyes again and felt that golden pool of energy at my center. It was fuller than it had ever been, thanks to my mates. I inhaled deeply and opened my eyes. Lifting my hands towards the tree, I let the energy flow through me. I spurred it on with hope for justice and safety for all those I loved and shifters as a whole. I held an image of
my bond mates in my mind and let the power fly.
Golden streaks of energy shot out of my palms. I held my breath as they cracked through the air. This time, instead of bouncing off the invisible force field Caspian had created, they shot right through it and embedded themselves in
the tree.
We all stood stunned silent. I’d done it. I’d broken through. After weeks of pushing myself past the breaking point. Of trying all the things that never would’ve worked. I’d finally found the source of my true power. My mates. Our connection. There was a surge of joy, but it quickly faded. Because my success only meant one thing.
It was time to kill my father.
“It feels weird to be going to school today,” I said as we slid out of Anson’s Range Senver.
We’d spent most of the day yesterday working on shield breaking. Now that I wasn’t forcing things anymore, it didn’t take nearly as much out of me. While we’d done that, Mason and Mac had focused on trying to locate Kaleb.
So far there was nothing.
Knox wrapped an arm around my shoulders, tugging me to his side. “We need a bit of normal.”
“Says the genius acing all his classes,” I muttered.
