That was all it took. In a flash, Caspian was pushing inside me. My legs circled his waist as he pumped into me, desperate and searching.

Caspian groaned as he slid from my body, and I winced at the loss of him. Somehow, I already wanted him again.

He tugged me into his bathroom. Wetting a rag, he pressed it between my thighs. “Tender?”

“Just sensitive.”

Caspian’s gentle care made my heart ache.

He handed me a pair of his sweats. “Here. These should work for now. I think I ripped your shorts.”

I chuckled as we both pulled on sweats. “Worth it.”

He kissed the side of my head. “Damn straight.”

I felt the telltale knocking in my mind of an incoming message. I opened the pack link and Mason’s voice filled my

head. Ivan is here.

The rest of the Quad? Knox asked.

He came alone. He said he wants to talk to Senna.

The guys surrounded me as we spilled out of the SUV. The lights from the lodge glowed in the dark, warm and reassuring. But the truth was we had no idea what we were about to face.

Vaughn scowled at the building. “This is a bad idea. It’s probably a trap.”

I slid my hand into his. “Ivan’s here alone. I have all of you and the enforcers. We’ll be fine.”

He tugged me closer to him. “I don’t like it.”

“Of course you don’t. You don’t like anyone but our bond.”

His lips twitched. “I’m still iffy on anyone but you.”

“Hey.” Anson’s mouth pulled into an exaggerated pout. “I thought we were on our way to becoming besties.”

“Let’s focus,” Knox said as we made our way up the steps. “We need to be on the lookout for any signs that Ivan is working with Kaleb. It’s vital that we figure out who is on his side.”

My stomach cramped at the thought of someone supporting the kidnapping of women and slaughtering of innocent shifters. All of us went quiet as River opened the front door.

The warm glow of the lights inside illuminated a tense circle. Mason, Mac, and a handful of enforcers surrounded Ivan. He seemed remarkably calm for the scenario.

“Thank you for coming, Senna.”

Ivan didn’t turn around before speaking the words. Whether he could scent me or simply sensed me with a gift I couldn’t understand, I didn’t know.

“Why are you here?” I didn’t have time or energy to play games with members of the Quad. And I was through with them attempting to use me.

Ivan turned around slowly. He wore a simple linen outfit. Loose pants and tunic top. Something that made him look like he was about to embark on a meditation retreat instead of heading into enemy territory. “I’m here to speak frankly.”

Caspian let out a low growl, taking a step forward. “Like we would trust anything that comes out of your mouth.”
