I couldn’t help the laughter that bubbled out of me. I released my hold on Anson’s arm and framed his face with my hands. leaning in for a slur kiss.

I sighed and leaned over Caspian opening our door as well. “Let’s go.”

I slipped my hand under the hem of his T–shirt, pressing my palm into his back. “They will. Eventually, I’ll become old news and they’ll move on,”
Knox sent me a doubtful look. “I hope you’re right. But do me a favor? Wait for one of us to walk you between classes, okay?”
Those four sets of eyes focused on me were pleading.
“Oh fine, but we’re not doing this forever.” I had to hope that once I shifted and we knew who attacked me, they’d relax a little, trusting that I could protect myself.
Knox gave me a quick kiss. “Have a good class.”
“You too.”
Knox and Caspian headed down the hall and the rest of us piled into astronomy. Ridge and Jack were already seated and gave
us a wave.
“How are you feeling?” Jack asked.
“Completely back to normal.” I glanced at Ridge as I slid into an empty desk, my cheeks heating. “I really appreciate you and Cass going to get my things.”
He sent me a smile. “No problem. Your mom’s a piece of work. Glad you’ll be with us now.”
My blush deepened. I could only imagine what Ridge might’ve overheard when he and Cass were at my house.
“Her mom’s smart,” Sadie quipped as she and one of her friends moved down the row of desks.
Anson stiffened next to me. “Get lost, Sadie.”
She ignored him and stayed focused on me, a smile playing on her lips. “Not even your own parents want you. How sad is that?” She chuckled, but it was an ugly sound. “Wait, this is your second set of parents that don’t want you, right? That has to be a record. Give it time, these guys will leave you too. And I can’t wait to have a front–row seat.”
All the guys around me sent Sadie death glares. River leaned forward, massaging my shoulders. “Don’t listen to her.”
