Chapter 18 The Best Mom
Olivia’s eyes turned red with anger.
Calista stepped right in front of Stephanie and blocked her
path. Charles and Jennifer backed Olivia up and called
security over.
Nicole and Austin froze. Neither of them wanted another
beating.
Olivia slipped past them and headed out.
Watching her walk up to the stage step by step, Stephanie
stamped her feet in frustration. “Calista, look at the daughter
you raised! If my grandson gets upset over this, I’m coming after you!”
Calista looked coldly at this group of people who used to be her “family.”
“Olivia’s been second place for sixteen years. It’s her turn to be number one.”
Austin finally looked up at his own mother. But Calista had already left backstage and gone back to her seat in the 16:37
audience.

Every word from backstage had carried through to the front.
The second Olivia stepped onto the stage, the audience
erupted in thunderous applause.
“Number one in the entire city!”
“You’re the real top student in this city!”
Olivia stood there confidently and started talking without
even preparing anything first.
“When it comes to studying, I’ve got a lot of experience I can share with you guys. First thing I’d recommend is developing a systematic way of thinking…”
She talked through her methods and interacted with students in the audience, explaining everything clearly and naturally.
The students were completely engaged.
“Besides working hard on your own, having good teachers to guide you matters a lot. To all you underclassmen, please appreciate every teacher who pushes you. They really do
want what’s best for you…”

understood by their students made all their hard work worth
Some students even shouted out, “We’ll follow your advice!”
“Also…” Olivia paused and looked down at Calista in the
audience with genuine emotion. “The person I’m most grateful to is my mom.
“My mom, Ms. Calista Hartwell, is kind and wise. She doesn’t just take care of us in every way possible. She also focuses on teaching us how to think. Oh, I’m saying ‘us’ because I have a twin brother. Growing up, Mom used the same teaching methods for both of us. Like when we were little…”
Olivia’s eyes sparkled as she shared some examples from
their daily life that parents in the audience could really learn
from.
Her eloquence and composure convinced everyone there. This was what a real top student looked like.

And then some “nice person” showed up who let the kid do whatever they wanted, and it was game over.
So many moms were barely hanging on, just hoping to get their kids to college and praying they’d grow up and understand someday.
Today, having a top student like Olivia give this speech
comforted those moms and woke up some of those rebellious
kids.
After all, these twins were a perfect example of the
difference.
“Austin brags about having an IQ of 135 but he can’t even figure this out.”
“Sweetie, don’t you dare act like Austin! And stay away from
him!”
“Favoring boys over girls is terrible! Look at these twins. The daughter is way better than the son!”
“Good for her for getting divorced!”
