Second Chance His Unending Love (Calista Hartwell) novel Chapter 78

< Second Chance, His Unending Lo…

Chapter 78

That afternoon, Evander took Calista and Olivia straight to Prosperity Tech after they left Hartwell Manor,

The registration was being held in the lobby on the first floor. By the time they arrived, the place was already packed with parents and kids. There were elementary schoolers and middle schoolers, and all the parents were eagerly signing their children up to add some shine to their résumés.

When the three of them walked into the lobby, quite a few heads turned their way with looks of admiration.

Calista had gone with light makeup today, and her smooth black hair fell casually over her shoulders in an effortless, carefree style.

She wore a pale blue linen dress with a subtle tie at the waist that showed off her figure perfectly.

Every bit of exposed skin was smooth without a trace of heavy makeup. She looked elegant and artistic, maybe in her early thirties at most, definitely not like the mother of 410-year-old.

The two people with her were just as eye-catching.

Evander was tall with chiseled features that looked

almost sculpted, giving off an air of cool sophistication.

As luck would have it, he was wearing a pale blue linen/ shirt today with a denim vest over it and white pants.

Standing next to Calista in that outfit, they were practically matching couple’s wears.

And the young girl between them had delicate, refined features with eyes as deep and clear as the night sky. She’d obviously inherited the best genes from both of

them.

“Look at that family of three. The guy’s gorgeous, the woman’s stunning, it’s honestly making me jealous,” someone murmured nearby.

“They passed all their best genes straight to their daughter.”

“A kid that pretty could be a child model or go into entertainment easy, but she’s going for chess instead.

What door did God even close on this family?”

Evander heard the comments and couldn’t help the smile tugging at his lips.

Calling us a family of three? That is pretty spot-on.

“Mom, the middle school registration is over there! Let’s go!” Olivia’s mind was completely on the competition as she ran toward the registration area. Evander followed right behind her.

Calista was about to head over too when a man approached from nearby. He stopped about three feet in front of her, and there was something scholarly about him as he smiled faintly. “You made it.”

His tone suggested he’d been expecting them. Calista didn’t pick up on that though, and she gave him a polite

but distant nod.

“Mr. Ferrer.”

She recognized Bradley. He’d been to the Frost Manor several times before and was one of Killian’s close

business partners.

She didn’t want any connection with Killian’s friends, but this was Bradley’s territory after all, so running into him was inevitable. Still, Calista remembered something.

Back when Killian had her resume blacklisted, Prosperity Tech was the only company that didn’t reject her. For that reason alone, she couldn’t give him the cold shoulder.

She gave him a faint smile. “I’m here to sign my daughter up for the competition.”

After Evander followed Olivia inside, he realized Calista hadn’t come along. He turned around and saw her chatting with some guy.

Evander narrowed his eyes slightly, keeping one eye on Olivia while listening carefully to their conversation.

Bradley spoke up warmly, “If you run into any issues with the competition, come find me anytime. No need to be polite.”

“Thanks, Mr. Ferrer.” Calista thought back to what happened before and took the opportunity to thank him

again. “Back at Skyline Tower, Susan helped Olivia out and I’m really grateful for that. I just didn’t have your contact info, so I’ve been waiting for a chance to properly thank you both.”

Bradley knew about the incident, of course. He pulled out his phone directly. “Well then, let me add your number.”

“Okay.” Calista paused for a moment. She’d always thought of Bradley as a quiet, reserved man who kept everything close to the chest, but now that she was actually talking to him, he seemed different from that impression.
