Chapter 81
Killian looked confused and followed Calista’s gaze.
Nicole’s body swayed as she called out sweetly, “Sir, catch
me!”
Evander stood there with one hand in his pocket, watching her with complete calm. He shifted slightly to the side and avoided her touch entirely.
Nicole didn’t catch the support she’d expected, lost her balance, and hit the ground with a loud smack. Her super short skirt flew up, and the crowd screamed while parents frantically covered their kids’ eyes.
How could this woman wear a miniskirt without leggings underneath?
Killian’s face went dark on the spot. He had no idea what Nicole was playing at, but he knew Calista was laughing at him.
So Calista is admitting the pretty guy is hers? Hmph.
Ppes she really think saying that will make me pay more 3

attention to her? It’s just a boring ploy for my attention.
Calista smiled, looking quite pleased. “Mr. Frost, stop flattering yourself. Your little side piece isn’t all that loyal to you either. You’d better guard your wallet. That’s what really matters.”
“Mind your own business.” Killian gave Calista a long look, then walked over to Nicole.
His face was stormy as he held out a hand and pulled her up quickly. His movements weren’t exactly gentle, more impatient than anything.
Nicole acted all tough and casual, brushing off her skirt. “Wow, this floor’s so slippery. Good thing I’m not the delicate type. Any other girl would’ve died of embarrassment.”
Killian hissed under his breath, “Enough. Stop making a fool of yourself.”
No matter how she tried to explain it, everyone saw her trying to seduce another man. Being laughed at by all these people was mortifying.

“Mr. Foster!” Nicole protested.
She’d just wanted to test whether Evander would fall for
her.
Calista was basically old enough to be going through menopause, and that guy was still with her. Someone as young and stunning as her should be impossible to resist, right?
She’d wanted to prove her appeal and make Calista jealous, but Evander hadn’t even blinked. He’d barely acknowledged her existence, and now she’d embarrassed herself in front of everyone.
Nicole looked over at Evander.
Both Evander and Olivia backed away quickly, their expressions clearly saying, “This has nothing to do with us, don’t even try it.”
Nicole waved her hand dismissively. “Don’t get the wrong idea, sir. I really did slip just now. Those sneaky little tricks other girls pull? I don’t know how to do that stuff.”
chill ran through Evander. “Don’t flatter yourself. You43

think you’re even in the same league as other girls?”
His disgust was completely straightforward. There wasn’t a hint of gentlemanly concern or any interest in her youth whatsoever.
“You!” Nicole choked on her words.
Evander turned to Olivia. “Hey, kiddo, what does your school call people like this?”
Olivia wrinkled her nose. “A pick-me girl.”
Evander nodded like he’d just figured something out and smiled. “Ah, so that’s the type your dad goes for. How unique.”
Both Killian and Nicole caught the shade in that comment. Killian’s face darkened.
He’d planned to lecture Calista, but instead, both Calista and Evander had turned him into a joke.
He never should’ve brought Nicole out today.
He turned toward Austin with a cold voice. “You donę 476

filling out that form?”
Austin answered casually and handed over the registration form.
Killian nodded. “Say hi to Mr. Ferrer, then let’s get out of
here.”
Killian brought Austin and Nicole over to Bradley’s side. “Mr. Ferrer, I’m counting on you to look after my son during the competition.”
Bradley responded absently while staying focused on his work. “Don’t worry, Mr. Frost. This competition treats everyone fairly. With me here, I guarantee it’ll be completely above board.”
Killian knew that with so many people around, Bradley could only say that.
He smiled knowingly, “My ex-wife caused you some trouble today. She doesn’t really know proper etiquette. I’ve already talked to her about it, so don’t take it personally.”
