Second Marriage to Mr. Rich (Ned Fletcher) novel Chapter 329

Ned's words hurt Ingrid. She sniffed.

"I haven't stooped so low that I need a woman's help!" he snarled.

"Just be concerned about yourself!"

Ned hung up. Knowing that Angeline had blocked him, he drove straight to Lawson Global and waited patiently for her. He saw Danny winding out of the building, skipping happily to his car before he left. Ned exited his car, lighting a cigarette as he gazed at the building silently.

He thought he and Angeline would stay with each other forever. He never expected them to drift so far apart.

Fletcher Corporation was where he began, but his business remained stagnant despite his many years there. Angeline, on the other hand, always seemed incredulously competent.

She had nothing besides Sean's support when they first divorced. Not only did she become a mother, but she also established Vitality Biotech Group in just four years. The group had grown so formidable that even Marvonia was wary of it.

Ned's fingers trembled slightly as he drew the cigarette closer to his lips. Loosening his tie, he figured Sean was right about one thing—he was the one who held Angeline back when they were together. He refused to imagine how capable she'd be by now if she hadn't rejected Krontos University's offer to pursue a doctorate after her bachelor's for his sake.

His eyes turned red at the thought.

It was getting dark, and a fine drizzle began to fall. Lawson Global remained brightly lit as a pile of cigarette butts clustered next to Ned's feet.

Lenny was driving Angeline's car from the basement when he spotted Ned, who parked his car at the roadside. He glanced at Angeline, who was skimming through documents in the backseat.

"Ms. Angeline, Mr. Fletcher's over there."

Angeline's head jerked up.

Ned seemed to recognize her car as he strode toward them.
