Lenny spun around, only to find Angeline, who was dressed in her casual clothes.
He blurted, "Ms. Angeline, please head in first."
"No!"
Brayden smirked.
"I finally got to meet you, Angeline. Why don't you let me in?"
Angeline's gaze swept past the two bodyguards shadowing him and returned to him again.
"I've no idea how you came up. To my knowledge, Grand Court Residences has strict security measures. Non-owners aren't allowed to enter."
"Well, isn't that a coincidence! I live just below your floor. I haven't been back for ages, but I climbed two flights of stairs to come here once I learned you live on the top floor. But this brat, Lenny, is stopping me from ringing the doorbell."
Brayden seized the chance to complain to Angeline.
Watching her amused expression, he slapped his head in realization. He extended his hand hastily.
"I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Brayden Green, and I'm… Shane's best friend before the Lawson family adopted him. Night Palace's a small joint I own, and you're welcome anytime. Everything's on the house!"
If the Night Palace were just a small joint, it would have put other clubs in Krontos to shame.
"Aren't you going to let me in, Angeline?"
Brayden grinned.
"Shane's about to be back soon, and I need to have a word with him. Well, it's our first time meeting each other. If you're worried, you may let Lenny, the dense log I've been training for years, enter as well."
Angeline was surprised to learn that he'd trained Lenny. She remembered that Sean used to take the VIP elevator in Night Palace, so she stepped aside.
"Lenny, come on in."
Lenny seemed wary as he trailed behind Brayden. He frowned when he saw Brayden glancing around.
