Evelyn’s gaze turned colder. “Or maybe you just don’t care about him at all. If you did, would you really stay this calm watching him run off to another woman?”
She didn’t stop there. “If it were Nathan, would you still act this indifferent?”
The series of questions left Elena speechless.
After Evelyn left, it took Elena a while to recover. She returned to bed and lay down, closing her eyes.
But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t fall asleep.
Do I really feel nothing about him going to Fiona?
By the time Alexander arrived at the private dining room, Fiona was sitting on the couch in a miserable state. Her hair was damp, and her dress clung to her uncomfortably.
The moment she saw him, she burst into tears.
“Alexander…”
She rushed toward him, trying to throw herself into his arms.
Before she could reach him, Alexander raised his hand and stopped her.
“What happened?” he asked.
Fiona bit her lip, forcing herself to stop. She blinked rapidly, trying to hold back her tears, her voice trembling. “It’s nothing… Your mom set me up on a date. We had an argument. He got drunk and insisted I go to a hotel with him.”
Her voice grew shakier as she continued. “I refused, and he started insulting me, saying my is gone and I don’t have anyone backing me anymore… I slapped him, and he tried to take advantage of me. Luckily, the staff called the police, so he left.”
She looked at Alexander nervously. “Did I cause trouble for your mom?”
Alexander took off his suit jacket and handed it to her. “If you don’t want to go on dates like that, just tell my mom directly.”
Fiona nodded, looking fragile and pitiful.
Alexander walked out first, and Fiona followed behind him.
As they reached the corner, a group of people was coming up the stairs. Nathan was leading them.

Alexander’s expression turned noticeably colder.
Nathan glanced at the two of them and gave a slight nod. “Alexander.”
Alexander didn’t respond at all and walked past him. Outside, his car was parked right at the
entrance.
He opened the back door. “Get in.”
Fiona hesitated. She glanced at the front passenger seat but saw no intention from him to open it.
She forced a smile. “About last time… did Elena get upset? I shouldn’t have called you.”
At the thought of Elena’s calm reaction earlier, something in Alexander tightened.
“I’ll have Ryan come pick you up,” Alexander said.
Fiona froze. “What?”
Alexander had already closed the door.
“Wait here.” he added.
Without giving her time to react, he pulled out his phone and called Ryan while getting into the driver’s seat. Then he drove off.
Fiona stood there in the cold wind, wrapped in his jacket, watching his car disappear from sight.
He left?
He actually just left like that?
She had deliberately provoked her date just to get Alexander to come, and yet he showed no hesitation in leaving her behind.
Her body began to tremble.
This must be because of Elena. Otherwise, why would he treat me like this?
Not letting her sit in the front seat. Not even bothering to drive her home. Half an hour later, Alexander’s car pulled up in front of Kingsley Manor.
