Back in the hospital room, both Raymond and the little boy were awake.
Raymond stood by the bed while Leo asked him, "Where's mommy?"
Quinn pushed the door open with a bright smile. "Leo, Mommy's right here!"
She walked over and hugged him. "Feeling better? Does anything still hurt?"
The boy looked much more energetic. He shook his head. "Nope."
Relief washed over Quinn, and a gentle, soft smile graced her lips.
"I didn't want to wake you guys, so I went out for some fresh air."
Noticing the faint dark circles under Raymond's eyes, she remembered what the nurses had said and felt a twinge of guilt.
She and her son were both restless sleepers; their blankets often ended up on the floor.
"Thank you for last night."
She meant for taking care of both of them while sacrificing his own sleep.
Raymond didn't overthink it. "Just add it to my paycheck."
Quinn was speechless.
Your 'boyfriend' is loaded, yet you still care about this petty cash?
Just then, Lydia walked in carrying a thermos. "Mrs. Hayes, I brought breakfast for the young master. I'll feed him."
Quinn glanced at Raymond. "Let's go grab something to eat."
By now, he had to be starving.
Raymond gave a nod.
She knew Raymond wasn't a picky eater, but to show her gratitude, she had a specific place in mind.
"There's a great spot nearby. Their artisan pastries and fresh coffee are phenomenal..."
The two of them walked to the elevator. When the doors opened, they practically crashed straight into Dante again.
Raymond merely cast him an indifferent glance. "My employer is Miss Yates. It's not your place to lecture me."
The confined space of the elevator grew thick with tension.
When they finally reached the basement level, Quinn braced herself and hurried out first.
Raymond followed closely behind.
Just as they got into the car and prepared to pull away, Dante stood by the vehicle, staring at Quinn through the window.
"It's only a matter of time before you move back to Belvedere Gardens. Hurry up and pack your things; I'll come pick you up."
Dante's gaze was entirely confident, utterly certain that she would return.
Raymond paused as he buckled his seatbelt.
Quinn was stunned, but before she could formulate a response, the man turned and strode toward his Maybach parked nearby.
Raymond started the engine and asked casually, "Are you moving back? Just so I can prepare."
