In all these years, the first time Dante ever took a beating was at the Yates family dinner, when Raymond punched him after Quinn fell into the pool.

Even though he had dodged quickly, his lip had still been busted open.

The second time he took a beating was when he was ambushed at The Apex Club.

Although his head had been covered with a suit jacket during the attack, Dante felt an undeniable familiarity from the assailant.

Whether it was the attacker's crisp, brutal combat skills or the chilling aura radiating from him, it felt exactly like this bodyguard.

Dante locked onto Raymond with hawk-like intensity, trying to catch even a flicker of panic or guilt.

As the CEO of the Hayes Group, Dante possessed a crushing, authoritative presence. An ordinary person would easily crumble under his severe scrutiny.

However, Raymond stood as immovable as a glacial mountain, without a single crack in his composure.

His tall frame stood perfectly straight, his cold aura deeply restrained, not exposing a shred of edge. He didn't even twitch an eyebrow.

"Mr. Hayes, what are you talking about? I don't understand."

Dante's expression darkened. "Playing dumb with me? You weren't at The Apex Club a week ago?"

The lower half of Raymond's face, visible below his sunglasses, registered perfect bewilderment.

"What is The Apex Club?"

Seeing him act like this, Dante felt a spike of doubt. Was he suspecting the wrong person?

But he hated Raymond and was convinced the man was deeply scheming. That much wouldn't change.

"It better not have been you!"

Dante delivered his cold warning, turned around, and got into his car.

Quinn had been watching them through the car window the entire time. Seeing that they merely talked without coming to blows, she finally let out a sigh of relief.

Raymond quickly opened the driver's side door and slid in.

"What did he say to you just now?"

Raymond didn't look back, calmly buckling his seatbelt.

"He told me to do my job properly and keep you safe."

Quinn raised an eyebrow. Why should she believe that for a second?

Still, since he clearly didn't want to tell her, she didn't push it.

When they arrived back at Lunas Crest, Raymond turned to Quinn. "You guys go inside first. I have some errands to run. I'll be back later."
