Hearing Raymond Moretti's freezing tone through the phone, Quinn Yates was momentarily stunned.
It was just a delivery for some herbal medicine. Did he really need to be this ruthless?
"Then should I hire a courier to go pick it up?"
The man replied icily, "I won't be opening the door."
"Raymond, what kind of attitude is th—"
Before Quinn could even finish her sentence, the call was abruptly disconnected.
She stared at her screen for a long moment. What was wrong with this guy? Why was his attitude suddenly so incredibly hostile?
Unfortunately, Lydia was on leave for the next two days as well, otherwise Quinn could have just had the courier coordinate with her.
Furious, she shot Raymond a text: [Disobeying your employer's direct orders? Your entire bonus for this month is docked.]
The man on the other end didn't even bother replying with a punctuation mark.
Just then, Lawrence Knight walked over. "Mrs. Hayes, could you please review this list and confirm if the catering and beverage arrangements are to your liking?"
Quinn barely gave it a passing glance. "As long as Mrs. Hayes and Dante have reviewed it, it's fine. Whatever they finalize won't have any issues."
She was only here to play along with Dante's little act. She had zero intention of actually behaving like the lady of the Hayes family. When Samuel Hayes told her to help manage the banquet, she simply nodded along to keep up appearances. She definitely wasn't going to break her back actually running things.
"Keep a close eye on the banquet preparations, Mr. Knight. Something came up, so I need to head out for a bit."
Quinn went upstairs, changed her clothes, and came back down to tell Mrs. Gable and Yara to keep a close eye on Leo. She was planning to head back to Lunas Crest.
Nothing in the world mattered more than her own health. A woman had to take good care of herself.
Just as she was opening a ride-hailing app on her phone, a black BMW SUV drove toward the villa and pulled smoothly into the front driveway.
It was the car that used to be Dante's but was now registered in her name.
Quinn walked over as the driver's side window rolled down halfway.
Raymond's face, partially obscured by sunglasses, was revealed.
"Oh, I thought you were on vacation?"
Looking entirely fed up, Raymond handed her the bag containing the herbal medicine packets.
"If it weren't for the bonus, did you really think I would have delivered this?"
As Quinn reached out to take it, Raymond's gaze briefly swept over her red lips before darting away just as quickly.
