Early the next morning, the doorbell at Lunas Crest chimed loudly.
Lydia pulled the door open to find Silas Vance waiting on the porch.
He offered a highly professional nod. "Is Mrs. Hayes available?"
"She's awake. She's just upstairs getting ready," Lydia replied.
Silas handed over a massive, obscenely expensive garment bag. "Please bring this up to her. I'll be escorting her to the ceremony once she's dressed."
Lydia took the luxury box and hurried upstairs to deliver it to Quinn.
By the time Quinn slipped into the gown and stepped out of her room, Raymond was already waiting in the upstairs hallway.

She pitched violently forward, instantly losing her balance as gravity dragged her down.
"Ah!"
She gasped in sheer terror. There were seventeen steep, hardwood steps below her. A fall from this height would be brutal.
But the agonizing crash she braced for never came.
A massively powerful arm snaked around her waist with lightning speed.
With a sudden jerk, she was hauled backward and slammed securely into a solid frame.
Her back collided flush against Raymond's rock-hard chest.
Her heart practically exploded in her throat, and for a dizzying second, she couldn't tell if the adrenaline spike was from the near-death experience or the sheer, suffocating heat of his body pressed against hers.
Her pulse was hammering so violently it threatened to shatter her ribs.
"Thank you..."
