"Quinn! Congratulations! You are finally free from that miserable bastard! Hold tight, I'm calling my guys right now!"
Hanging up, Quinn turned around and locked eyes with Raymond.
Though his handsome face remained infuriatingly blank, something dark and unreadable flickered in his gaze.
Tara was notoriously efficient. Within the hour, a team of professional movers arrived.
Quinn instructed the staff to help pack her and Leo's clothes and daily essentials.
As the house erupted into organized chaos, Quinn returned to the oak table to gather her design portfolios.
Halfway through, Tara came tearing through the front door like a hurricane.
"Quinn! Quinn!"
Storming through the living room, Tara was a woman on a mission—until she breezed past Raymond. She slammed on the brakes and whipped around.
She openly gawked at the massive, lethal-looking man standing in the corner. From his chiseled jawline and broad shoulders to the hard, muscular chest stretching the fabric of his shirt, down to his lean waist and endlessly long legs...
Tara's eyes went round as saucers, completely lovestruck.
This man was aggressively gorgeous.
"Quinn, who is...?"
"That's the bodyguard I asked you to find," Quinn replied, looking at her friend in amusement.
"What are you doing here?"
So this was the bodyguard? Jackpot!
"Hi, I'm Tara Moore. Quinn's best friend!"
Next, she grabbed a breathtaking, flawless vintage heirloom emerald bracelet. "He begged an antique collector for this. The clarity is insane. It's priceless. In the box it goes!"
"Ruby earrings, diamond tennis bracelets, the emerald-cut rings, the pearl sets... Pack it up! We are taking every last piece!"
Tara was absolutely ruthless, not showing a shred of mercy.
"I had to come over. I knew you'd be too soft-hearted and let him keep this stuff. He bought it for you, and now that you're done, he doesn't get a damn thing back."
Watching her friend aggressively pack millions of dollars in jewelry into a plastic bin, Quinn burst out laughing.
Yet beneath the humor, a wave of irony hit her. Dante used to shower her with the world's most expensive treasures, only to look at her with absolute disgust in the end.
People really did change.
Satisfied with her haul, Tara dusted off her hands. "Everything that came from that jerk is getting liquidated. We'll take the cash and use it to buy you a stable of hot, younger men!"
