The Hospital

Inside the VIP suite, sheer white curtains were drawn halfway, filtering out the blinding sunlight and leaving the room draped in a heavy, stifling silence.

The doctor finished checking Vivienne, concluding, "The patient's vitals are perfectly normal. There are no underlying physical conditions."

"The sudden fainting spell was most likely caused by emotional distress, extreme stress, or perhaps low blood sugar."

Simply put, there was absolutely nothing wrong with her.

Dante remained entirely expressionless, giving a slow nod.

"Understood."

Intimidated by the heavy atmosphere, the doctor quietly slipped out of the room with his clipboard, shutting the door softly behind him.

Dante stood by the bed. The way he looked at Vivienne now lacked the gentle warmth he usually reserved for her.

Instead, his gaze held a dark, calculating scrutiny.

His mind kept replaying what had happened back at the registration hall.

Replaying everything Tara had said.

Lying completely still, Vivienne could feel Dante's predatory gaze boring into her.

It felt as if he could see right through her, peeling back every layer of her carefully constructed facade.

Her heart hammered frantically against her ribs, a thin layer of cold sweat coating her back.

She kept her eyes screwed shut, remaining rigid for over ten agonizing minutes before realizing she couldn't fake it any longer.

Furrowing her brow slightly, she weakly lifted a delicate hand to her forehead, mimicking the pain of a severe headache.

She put on an act of slowly breaking out of unconsciousness.

Her eyes fluttered open sluggishly.

"Dante... why am I in the hospital? What happened?"

Dante looked down at her, his jaw visibly tight.

He kept his lips pressed together in a grim line, not answering immediately.

The piercing silence sent a wave of panic through Vivienne, forcing her to double down on her act.

"Lie down for a bit," he said softly. "I have some things to take care of. Let me step out to make a call."

Rising from the chair, Dante stepped out into the hallway and dialed the Lumina Fashion Competition headquarters.

The president's secretary answered the line. "Hello, Lumina Fashion Competition headquarters."

He stated his identity with grave authority. "This is Dante Hayes."

Hearing the name, the secretary's attitude instantly turned reverent.

"Mr. Hayes, hello. How can I help you today?"

Even through the phone, Dante's icy voice carried a suffocating pressure.

"At the registration site today, one of your employees maliciously obstructed Quinn Yates from applying."

"Please inform Mr. Fletcher that I expect him to handle this matter appropriately."

The secretary replied instantly. "Mr. Hayes, that issue has already been completely resolved."

Dante raised a brow. "Resolved?"
