"Quinn, you are twisting the facts!"
The moment she yelled, Yasmine felt an icy glare lock onto her face.
Even though Raymond was wearing sunglasses, Yasmine could feel the absolute frost in his eyes piercing right through the lenses.
It made her inexplicably terrified, and she fell dead silent.
Right then, Dante walked over. "Mr. Yates, Yasmine, don't worry. I will find Quinn a female bodyguard as soon as possible."
Dante had always harbored his own grudges against Raymond. Finding the perfect opportunity, he naturally stepped in.
Hearing Dante say this, Mr. Yates nodded and tossed a parting remark to Quinn, "Be mindful of your image from now on."
He then led Yasmine away to greet more guests.
Dante looked at Quinn. Rather than pushing the bodyguard issue, he probed, "Shall I give you a ride home later?"
"There's no need to trouble yourself, Dante."
Dante watched the two of them walk away side by side, his fists clenching in fury.
Vivienne walked over. "Dante, how did you get that cut on your mouth?"
She looked at his split lip, appearing genuinely distressed.
Dante's face remained blank, having no desire to elaborate. "I'm fine."
"Thank you so much for saving me when I fell into the pool earlier!"
The thought that Dante had instinctively chosen to save her first during a crisis filled Vivienne's heart with sweet satisfaction.
She knew it! Dante still cared about her. He just had a reserved personality and always put on an icy front.
Seeing Quinn's figure disappear completely, Dante pulled his gaze away.
Thinking back to what happened seven years ago, he told her, "No need. After all, you saved my life once, too."
As Dante spoke, his deep gaze shifted to the wrist she kept hidden beneath her silk scarf.
Raymond frowned. "What's wrong with your feet?"
"I think I scraped them." She had walked barefoot for so long today that her soles were blistered and raw. It was incredibly painful, but she had been bearing it the entire time.
"Stay here. I'll bring the car around."
With a dark expression, Raymond walked off to get the car.
As soon as she got in, Quinn kicked off her heels, finally finding some relief from the agony.
The window was half-open, and the evening breeze fluttered her hair. Raymond glanced at her through the rearview mirror but said nothing.
Arriving at Lunas Crest, Raymond parked the car and walked straight ahead.
Quinn, holding her heels in her hand, gritted her teeth and slowly limped forward, step by step.
The man turned back, frowning at her. Finally, unable to stand her snail-like pace any longer, he turned around.
Reaching out with his long arms, he scooped one arm under her knees, wrapped the other around her waist, and lifted her into the air.
