Isabella’s strength surprised him. She yanked the luggage from his hands and forced the photo frames inside.

Dominic said nothing. “Doing this now doesn’t mean anything.”

Isabella looked at him with reddened eyes brimming with tears.

“It does.” Her voice carried stubborn resolve.

“Suit yourself.” Dominic avoided her gaze, lifted the luggage, and walked out the door.

Outside, the movers had already begun carrying things downstairs. Before long, everything was loaded onto the truck.

Dominic drove the old Audi away. Isabella held Lilith in her arms and got into the car. Inside, the air felt heavy and suffocating.

Through the rearview mirror on the center console, Dominic watched Lilith. She clutched her mother’s hand tightly, her small face drawn taut, fear flickering in her eyes.

He sighed inwardly. ‘Lilith, there are things you will have to accept sooner or later.‘

They soon arrived at Luxe Residence.

Dominic went upstairs and opened the door. Faced with the spacious new home, Lilith showed little joy. Unease and panic stirred in her young heart.

Isabella suddenly hurried forward and picked up the copy of the property purchase contract from the coffee table. Her pupils shrank as shock and fury flashed across her face.

‘That woman really is generous.‘ She gripped the contract, her fingers pressing so hard that her knuckles turned white.

Dominic took it from her hands and spoke lightly. “Now that you know the location, you can leave.”

Isabella clenched her teeth and pointed at the contract. “Don’t you owe me an explanation? I don’t believe anyone would give you a house worth over 1,500,000 dollars for no reason. What does she want?”

“I have nothing to explain. That amount is nothing to her.” Dominic smiled casually, his tone dismissive.

“You can’t accept her house. Our family has money. I’ll transfer it to you, and you can return this to her.” Isabella’s voice was firm.

Dominic shook his head. “No need.”

“You would rather use her money than mine?” Isabella asked, her voice treinbling.

Dominic did not bother to answer. “You should go.”

Isabella was about to speak again when she noticed Lilith’s frightened expression beside her. She took a deep breath, crouched down, and said softly, “Lily, Mommy has something to take care of. I’ll come back later to be with you.”

The girl studied Isabella for a long moment, then nodded. “Okay.”
