After searching for a long time, Grace finally understood that her daughter was truly gone. She collapsed to the ground and broke into heart–rending sobs.
Dominic picked up the plastic ring from the floor and let out a soft sigh. “My condolences. At least Charlotte was happy when she left.”
That was perhaps the only small compensation left to these two incompetent parents.
With that, he left the house.
Outside, a surge of power erupted within him, coursing through his limbs and bones until it filled every corner of his body.
He lit a cigarette and gazed at the greenery not far away, his eyes quiet and deep.
Before long, Isaac came out as well. Dominic turned to look at him.
“Mr. Fleming, do you know where Charlotte… went? If you can bring her back, no matter how much money-”
Dominic reached out and stopped him, then shook his head gently. “I can’t do that.”
Isaac’s pupils quivered. He shut his eyes in pain.
After a long while, he spoke again. “Mr. Fleming, thank you.”
Just as Dominic had said, at least their daughter had not suffered so much when she left.
“The reason I waited for you here is that I hope you won’t forget your promise to Charlotte. She was good. A truly good girl.” Dominic’s voice was heavy, and his mood was no lighter.
“I know,” Isaac replied, drawing a deep breath and speaking with solemn resolve.
Dominic nodded. “I hope you’ll keep your word. Money can always be earned again, but family matters are more important. Maybe Charlotte is somewhere, quietly watching the two of you. Don’t disappoint her.”
“I won’t.”
“Maybe you should consider having a second child.”
At this, Isaac shook his head without hesitation. “No.”
“Hm?”
“We already wronged Charlotte,” Isaac explained. “How could we let someone else come and share her love?”
He had already decided to establish the Charlotte Foundation, dedicated to helping homeless children.
Dominic raised an eyebrow, then smiled faintly. “Alright. I should go. Goodbye.”
He turned and walked away,
“Mr. Fleming!” Isaac suddenly called out.
Dominic turned back, confusion flickering in his eyes.
“This might sound tacky, and I know this matter can’t be measured in money, but I still want to ask. Is there anything I can do?”
Isaac asked.
‘So that’s it.‘ Dominic laughed lightly. “Just keep it confidential.”
In truth, he was not concerned either way. Stories like this flooded the internet, and even supernatural videos appeared

constantly. Even if someone spoke of it openly, others would treat it as idle chatter.
“That’s not what I meant. I mean-” Isaac spoke urgently, but before he could finish, Dominic turned and walked on without pausing.
Isaac swallowed the rest of his words and muttered to himself, “He’s a master…”
Dominic drove away in Autumn’s Ferrari.
Since it was still early, he went to Luxe Residence first and switched back to his old Audi.
He sat in the car and smoked, a heavy weight pressing on his heart. “After they dissipate, where do they go? Do they vanish completely, or do they travel somewhere else?”
He pondered the question for a long time, melancholy settling over him. In the end, he shook his head and forced himself to stop thinking about Charlotte.
