Jessica rolled her eyes and snorted. “I was going to pee.”
Isabella had already guessed her intention. Shock and fury surged through her, and she clenched her fists. “You go to the bathroom hugging a pillow? Who are you trying to fool? Tell the truth!”
Jessica read the situation at once. Isabella was already seething. She slipped away without another word, did not even bother going to the bathroom, and hurried back to her own room. She shut the door and locked it.
If you two weren’t divorced yet, I’d definitely argue this out with you. Jessica knew she had no moral high ground, so she chose a
tactical retreat.
The more Isabella thought about it, the angrier she became. She marched over and pounded on Jessica’s door, lowering her voice as she shouted, “Jessica! Get out here. Open the door!”
“No way.” Jessica’s muffled reply came from inside.
Isabella lingered outside for quite some time before finally storming back to Lilith’s room.
The next morning, Dominic had just stepped out of his room when he saw Isabella sitting on the sofa, her eyes red and swollen.
He paused, then spoke lightly. “You’re up early.”
“Honey, why was that woman outside your room last night?”
Isabella had not slept well. Her thoughts were in knots, and she worried that Dominic might lose control. She had risen early and sat on the sofa to wait, ready to question him.
Dominic frowned. “What woman?”
Isabella pointed at Jessica, who stood by the door watching the scene unfold, and spoke with anger. “Who else could it be? Her!”
Jessica quietly opened the door and leaned against the frame, eager to enjoy the spectacle.
When Isabella pointed at her, she replied with disdain, “Don’t twist things around. You were the one standing outside Dominic’s door.”
Isabella exploded. “I’m his wife. Of course I can go into his room. Who do you think you are?”
Dominic spoke coldly. “It’s a trivial matter. Why argue about it?”
“How is that trivial?” Isabella panicked and rushed her words.
“She wanted to go into your room late at night, and you think that’s nothing? Could it be that…” Her voice trembled. “You want to cheat on me. You want to turn me into the other woman?”
Dominic shook his head, speechless. He did not want to engage and turned toward the bathroom.
“Explain it right now!” Isabella lost all composure.
She hurried after him, grabbed his arm, and pleaded with reddened eyes, “Explain it, please. Did you do anything with her or not? I’m your wife. Tell me, or I’ll go crazy.”
“Let go.” Dominic showed no patience. He shook her off and said, “The hearing is at ten this morning. Get ready. We’re going to
court.”
“Even if there’s a hearing, you still have to explain this to me. What exactly is your relationship with her?” Isabella hovered on the edge of hysteria, her heart racing. She feared the answer.

Jessica stood to the side, gloating. “Hehe. Of course it’s exactly the kind of relationship you’re thinking of!”
Isabella ignored her and fixed her gaze on Dominic, waiting to hear it from him.
Dominic glanced at Jessica, then said flatly, “Stop being unreasonable. She’s just my tenant.”
The smile vanished from Jessica’s face. She pouted and let out an annoyed sound.
Isabella’s eyes lit up, and her mood lifted at once.
