Abigail rolled her eyes at Dominic. “What are you thanking us for? Hurry up and go. If you run into trouble, give us a call”

“All right.”

After leaving the office, Dominic paused to think, then drove to David’s home. He had been there once before with Abigail in fact, he had met David that time.

Half an hour later, Dominic arrived at the villa estate. He spent a long while speaking with the security guard, completed the registration, and promised he would leave shortly before they finally let him in.

He located David’s house without difficulty.

The police cordon outside had already been removed. The main gate stood open, and the living room was crowded with people.

They all appeared to be David’s relatives. From time to time, waves of sobbing drifted out.

From outside, Dominic could see a coffin placed in the main hall, which left him puzzled. This was a homicide case. Shouldn’t David’s body have been sent for forensic examination?

‘It’s him.‘ Dominic stiffened. He had not expected David’s fixation to remain unresolved.

After a brief pause, he walked straight toward David.

At first, David paid no attention to the approaching figure. Then he suddenly realized that the other man’s gaze was fixed squarely on him.

He froze. Before he could speak, Dominic said, “Don’t ask. I really can see you.”

It was always the same question. Dominic had heard it more times than he cared to count.

David was stunned.

“This isn’t the place to talk.” Dominic continued, “Come with me.”

With that, he headed toward a pavilion not far away.

There were too many people around. If anyone saw David speaking to thin air, he would probably be labeled insane all over again.

When they reached the pavilion, Dominic pointed at the child. “Who is this?”

“My son.” David’s eyes flared with overwhelming rage. “He’s been missing for three months. Before that, I thought he’d been trafficked. I never imagined… that vicious woman. I hate her!”

Dominic’s eyes flickered. He glanced at the boy, then asked quietly, “So you only found out after you died that your son was already dead?”

David nodded, his expression twisted with pain. “Yes.”

He lowered his head and told the boy, “Clement, call him Mr. Fleming.”
