“There’s no way Isabella would hand the project over to Miss Wright so easily. For her to do that, something critically important must have happened.”

Dominic paused. He chose not to mention Alexander. “Anyway, based on a few details, Miss Wright must have used the car accident footage to strike a deal with Isabella. She had no reason to have that footage in the first place. I went over it again and again, and the only person I could think of was you.”

Autumn huffed. “That aunt of mine really is sly. I gave her the footage so she could pass it to you or deliver it straight to Isabella, and she still managed to squeeze benefits out of it. That’s too much.”

“Then why didn’t you give it to me directly?” Dominic asked curiously.

“I was afraid you’d blame me again for acting without your consent,” Autumn said, glancing at him with caution in her eyes.

Dominic sighed. “Am I really that unreasonable in your eyes? Can’t I tell right from wrong?”

“Hehe.” Autumn stuck out her tongue.

“Honestly, I’m really grateful to you for this. I don’t even know how to repay you,” Dominic said.

“Don’t say that, Dominic,” Autumn replied. “If you really want to repay me, I have one condition.”

“Go ahead.”

Her cheeks flushed slightly. “I don’t want you to call me Autumn. Just call me Auttie.”

Dominic froze for a moment, then smiled. “Sure.”

Before long, the dishes arrived, and the two of them began to eat.

Midway through the meal, Autumn suddenly remembered something. “Dominic, what’s going on between you and Zachary? I heard my aunt mention that you’ve had some kind of conflict with him.”

At the sound of that name, Dominic frowned. “There’s something off about that guy.”

He then recounted what had happened outside Lydia’s law firm, along with the incident when he ran into Zachary at the office

last time.

Autumn’s expression cooled. “I didn’t expect Zachary to be so arrogant and overbearing. I even thought he might end up with my aunt someday. Now it’s clear he’s absolutely not a good match.”

Dominic did not comment. He only asked, “Does he come from a powerful family?”

“The Grants of Skyline City,” Autumn said calmly.

Dominic’s pupils tightened. He had heard that name just yesterday when he went to see Alexander, straight from Mary’s mouth.

Mary believed that once she became a vengeful spirit, she could take revenge. She did not only want to go after Dominic. She also seemed determined to target the Grants of Skyline City.

If that were the case, then perhaps the Grants had some deeper entanglement with Alexander and his mother.

Noticing his silence, Autumn spoke again. “Don’t worry, Dominic. If Zachary dares to cause trouble for you, I won’t let him get away with it.”
