The next day, Dominic washed up and prepared to head to work.

Jessica’s bedroom door was closed, which meant she was still asleep.

Just as he was about to leave, Isabella stepped out and called, “Honey!”

Dominic turned and glanced at her.

It had to be said that Isabella lived up to her reputation as a top–tier beauty. Her complexion looked rosy, and she was strikingly gorgeous.

Today, she wore a purple dress cinched at the waist with a brown leather belt, which accentuated her slim figure and gave her perfectly balanced proportions.

Dominic gave her a single look, nodded calmly without a word, and walked straight out.

Only then did Isabella notice that he had not made breakfast. She pouted. “So annoying!”

She wanted to chase after him, but she had not washed up yet, so she could only shake her head in regret.

When Dominic arrived at the office, he sat at his desk and took a sip of water.

“Bro, did you eat breakfast yet?” Daniel asked as he walked over, holding a box of donuts and eating while he spoke.

“Not yet.” Dominic did not stand on ceremony and took two donuts from Daniel’s box.

“If you’d said so earlier, I would’ve bought another basket,” Daniel said.

Dominic finished them in two bites and smiled. “I’m not that hungry today. Two are enough to tide me over. By the way, what’s the plan for today?”

“Abby said we’re visiting a department head at the Municipal Maternal and Child Health Hospital. Mr. Johnson pulled some strings and found out the hospital has a procurement plan worth around 1.2 million dollars this year. If we land it, that’s a big order,” Daniel said.

Dominic nodded. “That won’t be easy to negotiate. A procurement at that scale won’t attract just one company.”

“Of course not. I heard several companies are interested. But Abby applied to Miss Wright for some funds. She’s planning to work her connections and send a few gifts. We might still have a shot.”

Dominic raised an eyebrow. “Since there’s nothing else on my plate, I’ll go take a look later. Where’s Abby?”

“She won’t be in until after ten.” Daniel sighed. “Her husband got hurt again. She rushed him to the hospital overnight and is probably still taking care of him.”

Dominic frowned.

Abigail’s husband was paralyzed from the waist down, and his personality had grown increasingly twisted. He had developed violent tendencies and often lashed out at Abigail and the child. Worse still, he sometimes harmed himself.

That was someone else’s family matter, and Dominic could not interfere.

He said, “Alright. We’ll wait until Abby gets here.”

Daniel pulled over a chair and sat down. “Honestly, you closed such a huge deal that you don’t even need to work anymore. You could just take it easy this month.”

“I don’t have much else to do anyway,” Dominic said with a smile.
