Chapter 231
Jessica froze for a moment, then burst into furious curses.
“Lily, you idiot. You actually went AFK-“Mid–curse, she suddenly stiffened in shock.
Her gaze fixed on Katherine and Isabella, and the words slipped out. “Am I seeing two ex–wives?”
Both Katherine and Isabella ranked as top–tier beauties, with nearly 70% resemblance in their features.
Their temperaments, however, differed sharply. Isabella carried herself with a crisp, capable air, while Katherine seemed gentler, her expression soft and faintly unfocused.
Jessica sized them up from head to toe. When her eyes settled on Katherine’s figure, her expression tightened and grew serious.
As though she had encountered a formidable rival, she asked, “And you are?”
Katherine extended her hand with a polite smile. “My name is Katherine Sinclair. I’m Lily’s aunt.”
Jessica clasped it and returned the smile. “As expected of the former eldest sister–in–law. My respects.”
“Likewise.”
They did not clash outright, but a peculiar tension lingered in the air.
Dominic fell silent. Helplessness showed plainly on his face as he said, “You talk. I’ll go cook.”
More and more people had filled the house. The place already felt like a marketplace.
Katherine was clearly staying the night.
Unfortunately, all three guest bedrooms were already occupied.
If Autumn ever found out that the apartment she had bought for Dominic now housed three women, and that there would not even be room for her if she wanted to move in, who knew how she would react?
‘If Autumn really did come, we would have enough people for a poker game. What a headache.‘ As the thought crossed his mind, the doorbell rang.
‘Dominic jumped. It could not really be Autumn, could it?‘
Everyone turned to look at the door. Only Lilith blinked her large eyes and said, “I’ll open it!”
She padded over barefoot and pulled the door open.
“Dominic, I heard you resigned. I sent you messages, but you didn’t-” Abigail stopped short when she noticed three stunning beauties inside, all staring at her without blinking.
She fell silent at once. Sweat beaded on her forehead, and she realized she had probably arrived at the wrong time.
Dominic walked over with a smile. “It’s you, Abby. Come in.”
As a seasoned sales professional, Abigail read the room instantly. “No, I have something else to do. I’ll head off first. We’ll talk another day!”
She set the gifts down behind the door, wasted no extra words, and turned to leave.
Dominic followed her to the door. When she did not even glance back and only waved as she walked away, he could only call out, “Let’s catch up later, Abby!”
The apartment fell quiet once more.

All three women released a breath at the same time. Compared to them, Abigail poset no threat at all. She and Dominic were probably just colleagues.
Isabella and Jessica frowned together and cast suspicious looks at Katherine as if asking, “Wait. Why did you sigh in relief too?”
Late at night, at a remote motel, a black SUV sat hidden in the darkness. Five people occupied the vehicle.
“Sir, his name is Gary. He’s in Room 203,” a man reported respectfully to Oliver.
Oliver’s expression remained blank as he replied in an even tone, “Do it. If the police show up, turn yourself in. You don’t need to worry about your family.”
A burly man nodded, stepped out without a sound, and headed toward the motel.
Another person pulled out a phone and dialed emergency services. As soon as the call connected, he spoke in a panicked voice.” Someone’s been hurt. Please come quickly. The address is…”
