She Chose Him Now She Wants Me Back novel Chapter 269

Chapter 269

Katherine froze when she saw Isabella’s expression.

Dominic frowned as well.

Isabella let out a bitter laugh and shook her head, tears blurring her vision. “Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. Isabella, you’re a complete failure…”

Hopelessness swallowed her, and her thoughts hovered on the brink of collapse.

Dominic shifted, clearly uncomfortable.

Katherine hurried over and helped her up, her eyes red. “Bella, go to bed first. Whatever you want to say, we can talk tomorrow.”

“Sleep?” Isabella’s gaze was empty, her voice hollow. “Kathy, what’s the point of sleeping?”

Katherine stiffened, her voice trembling. “B–Bella, don’t scare me like that.”

Dominic grew irritated, torn between staying silent and explaining himself. He muttered, “Stop acting like this. Jessica is sick. I went to see her. Nothing like what you’re imagining happened.”

Some things had happened. Others had not.

At his words, Isabella suddenly came alive.

Light flared in her eyes as she rushed in front of him, hope written across her face. “Honey, really?”

Dominic was left speechless. In only a few seconds, she seemed like a completely different person. How did she manage that?

A laugh escaped him, edged with frustration. “Isabella, do you have split personalities?”

“No, absolutely not!” Isabella raised her hand in a solemn oath. “Honey, I swear. I only have one personality. The one that loves you.”

Dominic ignored her. He finished cleaning up the broken glass, then turned to Katherine. “Katherine, why are you still awake?”

Katherine curled her lips. “Just a moment ago you were crying as if your life depended on it, and now you’re acting like this Were you pretending the whole time? Am I Just part of your little play?”

Isabella sighed again, softer this time, and shook her head with faint sadness. “I wasn’t pretending”

She sat down on the sofa, her voice low. “If my husband really got involved with someone else, I couldn’t accept it. Just now, I truly felt that living was worse than dying.”

Katherine frowned. “But it’s inevitable. Even if it isn’t Jessica, it could be Autumn or someone else. You’re already divorced. Even if Dominic remarries, you can’t interfere.”

At that, Isabella shuddered and shook her head hard. Her voice turned resolute. “Remarry? He can’t remarry. My husband can only remarry me.”

Katherine sneered, “You can’t stop him.”

Isabella clenched her teeth. “I won’t lose.”

Katherine looked at her and thought, ‘Isabella, you talk tough. You said he couldn’t bear to leave you, yet he left. You said divorce was impossible, yet the marriage ended. And now you say you won’t lose. At this point, not losing would take a miracle, with everything already slipping away.‘
