Chapter 300
After clearing his chat history with Autumn, Dominic lit a cigarette to calm his frustration.
Before he could enjoy the quiet, Isabella and Jessica barged in.
The sight of Isabella only worsened his already sour mood. He frowned and said, “Aren’t you supposed to be at the office?”
“Honey, what kind of question is that?” Isabella replied, as if the answer were obvious. “You’re opening here today. Of course I had to come.”
“You really don’t have to,” Dominic said flatly.
“Yeah, yeah,” Jessica echoed from the side.
Isabella did not take offense. She walked over with a smile, gently massaged Dominic’s temples, and said, “Honey, I know you’re feeling a bit down, but Autumn was always going to get married someday. It’s fine. Your wife is the one who stays with you every day.”
Jessica refused to fall behind. “And me too. Isabella, you’re already the ex–wife. Could you have a little self–awareness?”
Dominic glanced at Jessica. “That piece your uncle sent today…”
“I went to see my uncle,” Jessica said without hiding it, her tone modest. “It wasn’t that hard. I just begged him for three days and three nights.”
As she spoke, her large eyes flicked toward Dominic, her expression all but shouting for praise.
Dominic smiled. “Jessica, thank you.”
Isabella watched the her tone turning sharp. “Jessica, you’re really something.”
All she could feel was bitterness. After all, Jessica’s background put her beyond reproach.
“Dominic, how can you say that?” Jessica asked, widening her eyes and putting on an aggrieved look.
Isabella grew cautious. “Then what do you want?”
“I…” Jessica hesitated. What she really wanted was for Dominic to kiss her, preferably right in front of the ex–wife. The thought stayed unspoken. Lately, it was better to keep things stable and avoid provoking her.
Dominic said, “Alright. I still have a lot to deal with. You should both go take care of your own things. Let me rest for a while.”
Isabella did not want to leave.
Jessica’s eyes flicked around, then she said brightly, “Mm–hmm. I’ll head back first, Dominic. I’ll come find you after you’re
done.”
Dominic smiled. “Go on.”
Jessica left without hesitation.
Isabella stood frozen as anger surged through her. ‘Jessica, you’ve gone too far. Acting so obedient now, who exactly are you putting on a show for? Isn’t this just roasting me over the fire?‘
Sure enough, Dominic turned to her, and the smile on his face disappeared at once.
“Honey, I just want to keep you company,” Isabella said in a pitiful voice.
“You should leave,” Dominic replied coldly. “This isn’t a place for you.”
With no other choice, Isabella left in embarrassment, defeated by his firm expression.

Once outside the store, she saw Jessica chatting in front of Katherine’s camera. Irritation flaring, she strode over and grabbed her arm. “Jessica, did you do that on purpose?”
Jessica blinked innocently. “What do you mean, ex–wife?”
The affected look made Isabella grit her teeth in fury. “Just you wait!”
She stormed off.
Behind her, Jessica laughed with open satisfaction, delight written all over her face. She then turned to Katherine. “Hey, I’m heading back too.”
“Mm–hmm. Go on,” Katherine said. “Be careful on the way.”
The opening event lasted the entire day.
