Panic flashed in Zachary’s eyes as he began to struggle wildly. His shirt tore open, and his body slammed hard against the ground. He did not pause for even a second, scrambling and crawling as he tried to flee into the house.
Dominic had no intention of letting him escape. One kick struck squarely at Zachary’s waist, drawing a sharp scream as the force sent him flying more than half a meter.
Dominic followed up with a barrage of punches and kicks. He held back deliberately. Otherwise, Zachary would have been beaten to death on the spot.
“Stop!” A woman rushed outside. When she took in the scene, her body began to tremble, and she cried out sharply, “Let go of my son!”
Dominic cast her a cold glance. “Shut up, or I’ll hit you too.”
Elijah heard the commotion and ran out, roaring, “What are you all doing? Stop him, now!”
Eight bodyguards already lay scattered across the ground. Some had lost consciousness, some groaned in pain, and the rest hesitated, frozen by uncertainty.
Veins bulged on Elijah’s forehead. At the sight of his son wailing in agony, his eyes reddened. Reason deserted him. He suddenly pulled a handgun from his waist and cursed, “Dominic, move one more time and I’ll shoot you dead!”
Dominic kept his foot pressed firmly against Zachary’s chest, pinning him in place. He turned his head slightly and sneered, ” You think you can threaten me with that? Go on. Shoot me. Trade my life for the Grants of Skyline City collapsing overnight.
That would still be worth it.”
“You…” Elijah’s expression wavered. Then a thought struck him, and his gaze snapped toward the old Audi.
He ground his teeth. “The dashcam?”
Dominic smiled. “And it’s connected to the internet.”
That was precisely why he had smashed through the gate and driven straight to the front door. Otherwise, after driving that old car for so many years, he had grown attached to it. He would not have had the heart to do that to it.
Elijah clenched his jaw, lowered the gun, and barked, “What do you want, exactly?”
Dominic shrugged, his tone casual. “I was opening my business yesterday, minding my own affairs, and you chose that moment to stir up trouble. I’m a reasonable person. You messed with me yesterday, so today I mess with you. That seems fair, doesn’t it?”
Elijah burned with rage. “At most, it was business competition. Now you’re hurting people. Haven’t you gone too far?”
Dominic let out a soft sigh. “The important thing is that I was in a bad mood yesterday.”
Elijah looked down at his son sprawled on the ground, blood seeping from the corner of his mouth as he groaned without stopping. His fury threatened to erupt. ‘What does your bad mood have to do with me?‘
Gritting his teeth, he said, “If it weren’t for the Hales, how could I let you act with such arrogance!”
Even with carneras present, if it were not for the protection of the Hales and that girl’s favor, he would have dared to ensure Dominic never left this place alive.
Dominic grinned.
“But there is no ‘if.“” His tone grew obscure as he continued. “So–called methods amount to using everything at your disposal Put another way, if there were no Hales, I probably would not have come in person. I would still have found other ways to deal with you. Perhaps your son would have ended up even worse.”
The words left Elijah speechless.

After a long moment, he finally said, “Dominic, I underestimated you.”
He had once thought Dominic was nothing more than a man living off a woman’s support. Those words shattered that assumption. This man’s methods were ruthless. Even though he acted openly, Elijah could find no way to retaliate.
At that moment, Dominic stood with a cigarette in his mouth and one foot planted on Zachary’s chest, exuding a faintly bandit- like presence.
To achieve his goal, he would use any means necessary.
