Chapter 356
The next day, Jewel did not dare look at Dominic, and he felt just as awkward.
He understood her reaction and respected it. Strangely, he even found her sudden shyness a little cute.
It was not until the afternoon that Jewel spoke to him for the first time, and by then she seemed mostly back to normal.
Over the next few days, Dominic spent nearly all his time in the ward.
Those women appeared to have an unspoken understanding and never came together.
Sometimes, Autumn visited. Other times it was the Sinclair sisters, and Jessica dropped by now and then.
The others behaved normally, but Jessica’s thinking ran in a different direction. She looked at Jewel with a trace of envy.
“Ah, if I were the one lying here, how wonderful that would be!” She even let out a long sigh.
Dominic’s eyelid twitched at her words. If something like this happened to Jessica, Skyline City would probably erupt in chaos.
The mayor might even be forced to resign.
Days passed one by one.
Before they realized it, October had arrived, and the weather had begun to cool.
After the Columbus Day holiday, Dominic and Jewel were finally cleared to leave the hospital.
When the nurse removed their bandages, Jewel looked fine. She had only suffered minor burns on her arm. Dominic’s condition, however, left her stunned.
“What…” The nurse stared in disbelief. The scars beneath the bandages had faded dramatically and were nearly healed.
Dominic laughed. “My injuries weren’t serious to begin with.”
“I… Is that so?” the nurse asked, still doubtful.
Dominic only smiled and offered no explanation.
After completing the discharge paperwork, the two of them left the hospital together.
Jewel looked at the sunlight outside and sighed softly. “That feels good.”
Dominic glanced at her and smiled. “You’re finally free.”

Jewel turned back to look at the hospital, a strange reluctance tugging at her. She was not attached to the bed, but to someone else.
‘It doesn’t really matter. We will still work together and see each other every day.‘
With that thought, Jewel smiled and joked, “What freedom? I’m about to become your slave.”
Dominic chuckled and thought of an online meme. “Then work hard. Maybe you can buy me a Ferrari by the end of the year.”
“In your dreams.” Jewel shot him a playful glare, her expression bright and charming.
Then she lowered her head, concern flickering across her face. “There’s still a small scar on my arm.”
Dominic took a look. “It’s faint. You can’t even see it unless you look closely.”
“But it’s still there,” Jewel said, her tone gloomy.
For someone who cared about her appearance, even the smallest scar felt unacceptable.
Dominic offered a suggestion. “Then get a tattoo.”
“A tattoo? Of what?”
He thought for a moment. “How about a butterfly?”
The moment Jewel heard the word butterfly, her mind jumped to that night. Her face flushed bright red. She shot him a fierce glare, said nothing, and walked ahead on her own.
Dominic stood there, baffled. ‘What was that about? How did I offend her this time?‘
Ten minutes later, Jewel’s assistant arrived with the car, and they got in together.
“I’m going to the office. Where are you headed?” Jewel asked.
“Luxe Residence,” Dominic replied.
Oliver had already returned to Eastmere and had his own responsibilities to handle. He could not stay here indefinitely to look after Lilith.
For now, Katherine and Isabella had taken over most of her care.
“All right.” Jewel nodded, a hint of regret in her eyes. She had wanted to go with Dominic to see the new office location.
The company’s relocation was complete, and operations had returned to normal. Sales of White Cosmos No. 1 oral solution continued to rise, and profits were substantial.
Before long, they arrived at Luxe Residence.
