Chapter 402
Lydia sat in the car. She could not hear what they were saying, but Isabella’s disappointed expression was enough to make her smirk.
When Dominic got in, her smile faded. She asked quietly, “Dom, you… just left her there?”
Dominic nodded. “I’m not concerned with her.”
Lydia nodded as well, studying him with a suggestive look. “That makes sense. I noticed the man standing next to her. He’s the eldest Grant heir.”
Dominic looked surprised. “You know Zachary?”
Lydia smiled. “Do you remember the first time you came to see me? Zachary came by around then to consult me on some legal
matters.”
“I see.” Dominic nodded, understanding at last.
Lydia continued, “Speaking of which, the Grants of Skyline City and the Sinclairs of Eastmere State are quite a match. It seems your ex–wife won’t struggle to find someone after divorcing you.”
Dominic smiled faintly. “Let her be.”
The old car moved steadily down the road and soon pulled up in front of a local restaurant.
“It’s late,” Dominic said. “Let’s eat here.”
“Works for me,” Lydia replied.
They parked and went inside.
On the other side…
Isabella watched Dominic and Lydia leave. She had no mood to continue negotiating with Zachary.
Her husband’s earlier words echoed in her mind. He had said that something was about to happen. The thought left her
unsettled and uneasy.
Zachary watched the old car disappear with a faint smile. He then walked over to Isabella. “Ms. Sinclair, shall we talk about the collaboration?”
Isabella took a deep breath and looked at him sharply. “Why are you approaching me under the name of a small company?” Recently, the Belladom Group had secured a major order worth more than 50 million dollars, with profits exceeding to million. The partner company was not large. Isabella had previously dealt with its contact, a woman nearing 50.
Today, however, when she arrived for the meeting, she discovered that the contact had been replaced by Zachary
Business was business, and she did not mind the change. Still, running into her husband without warning made the situation feel strange.
More importantly, Dominic had stressed that she should stay away from Lydia and Zachary. That warning only deepened her suspicion.
Could whatever Dominic was about to face have something to do with Zachary? Was today’s encounter really a coincidence? Zachary sighed. “The Sinclairs of Eastmere State are well known. My father has always spoken highly of your family. I truly mean no harm. I only wanted to become friends with you, Ms. Sinclair.”
Isabella’s gaze sharpened. “If you wanted to be friends, you could have contacted Oliver. Your real reason for approaching me

She stopped abruptly, Dominic’s warning flashing through her mind.
He had been clear. She was not to interfere with Zachary or Lydia. Isabella hesitated.
After a brief struggle, she said coldly, “Forget it. As I said before, the collaboration is terminated.”
She turned, walked into the restaurant, retrieved her bag, and left.
Zachary raised an eyebrow. As he watched Isabella’s graceful figure disappear, a faint smile returned to his lips.
His target had always been Dominic. Once the plan succeeded and Dominic was dealt with, there would be plenty of time to win
Isabella over.
After a careful harvest, savoring the ripe fruit would be the perfect ending.
When Isabella drove away in her Porsche, Zachary took out his phone and dialed a number.
It rang for a while before someone finally answered.
