Over Over
Katherine could not help muttering, “Just minutes ago, he showed no intention of remarrying.”
When Isabella noticed her sister’s stricken expression, her own face fell. “Kathy, what’s with that look? Don’t you want things to go back to the way they were?”
Katherine forced a smile, though a trace of sadness lingered in her eyes. The mere thought of a possible remarriage made her chest tighten.
Isabella did not seem to notice. With a hint of longing, she went on, “When that happens, I’ll have my husband move back too. Then it’ll be easier for you to mooch off our meals.”
Each word deepened Katherine’s discomfort.
After a long silence, she drew a steady breath. “It won’t be that simple. Men and women aren’t the same. I mean, Dominic might fall in love with someone else. He might… end up with another woman.”
The words froze Isabella’s bright smile in place.
After a moment’s thought, she nodded reluctantly. “You’re right, Kathy. Several women are already scheming for my husband. I have to stay alert.”
A flicker of guilt crossed Katherine’s face.
Isabella’s expression turned serious. “So you have to help me.”
Katherine blinked. “Help how?”
Isabella’s voice rose with indignation. “You have no idea. That Jessica is shameless. She actually flirted with Dominic right in front of me. Isn’t that crossing the line?
“And Autumn is even worse. She does subtle little things behind the scenes to move him.
Then there’s Jewel at the company. She doesn’t use tricks, but she’s always alone with him in his office. If she ever steals him away, won’t I be the one who suffers?”
As she spoke, she reached for a cup on the coffee table and took a sip.
She immediately frowned. “Ugh, Kathy, why are you drinking from this cup? It’s giving me weird vibes.”
Katherine snatched the cup back, irritation flashing in her eyes. “You’re divorced. What vibes are you talking about? Even if Dominic… did something with someone else, you couldn’t control it.”
“How can you say that?” Isabella’s eyes widened. “He’s my husband. He’s your brother–in–law.”
Katherine pressed her lips together and let out a faint hum. “Fine. What exactly do you want me to do?”
“Have you started working at his company yet?”
“Yes.”

“Good. Then we’ll do what we did before. Keep an eye on him for me. If you see him go into Jewel’s office, or if she goes into his, and they stay longer than ten minutes, find an excuse to interrupt. Ideally, you’d monitor every minute.”
Katherine let out a short laugh. “You even have a strategy? Every minute? Should I follow him into the
bathroom too?”
“Of course not. If you saw something you weren’t supposed to, I’d be the one paying for it,” Isabella replied firmly.
Katherine felt her stomach churn. “So you’re treating me like your lackey?”
Seeing her anger, Isabella grabbed her arm and gave it a playful squeeze. “Kathy, I don’t have anyone else. That’s why I need you.”
Katherine did not refuse. The idea of staying by Dominic’s side every minute made her heart pound. The thought of being alone with him in the office sparked images she struggled to suppress, and heat crept unexpectedly across her face.
“Hey, why are you blushing?”
Katherine cleared her throat lightly. “I just feel energized.”
‘How awkward,‘ she complained inwardly.
Isabella rolled her eyes and waved it off. “Anyway, this is a critical time. You coordinate with me. You don’t want Lily getting close to another woman either, do you?”
‘Of course not,‘ she answered in her mind.
Katherine said quietly, “But this plan only covers Jewel. What about the other two?”
