Chapter 444
Oliver looked at Zachary with a faint smile, but his eyes were glacial.
“You’re not meant to be the gun aimed at people. Don’t you understand that?” he asked lightly.

Zachary felt cornered and ground his teeth. “Didn’t you see it? Dominic doesn’t have the slightest intention of reconciling-”
“Grant, you’ve stood above everyone for so long that when one refuses to reconcile, you don’t stop to question whether your sincerity falls short. You go straight to threats,” Oliver interrupted calmly. “Tell me, if Dominic hadn’t agreed to your terms today, were you planning to stop him from leaving?”
Zachary fell silent. A moment earlier, that had been exactly his plan. The Grants were already in dire straits. He had wanted to make a desperate gamble and force Dominic to yield.
However, Dominic showed no anger at all. To him, Zachary was as good as finished.
Dominic offered a knowing smile. “I’m heading out.”
“Hey, I’ll go with you,” Oliver added.
Together, they walked toward the factory entrance.
Zachary’s face turned ashen.
When the doors swung open, a line of bodyguards blocked the exit.
The woman beside Oliver raised her handgun and spoke in a cool, even tone. “Move.”
Her gaze was icy. A sharp, intimidating aura radiated from her, yet her eyes were strikingly beautiful.
The bodyguards held their ground. A flicker of impatience crossed her face.
At that critical moment, Zachary clenched his jaw. “Let them go.”
Only then did the bodyguards step aside.
As soon as they were gone, Zachary erupted. He kicked over the debris at his feet. “Damn it! Damn it!”
His eyes were bloodshot. He stood on the brink of losing control.
Neil remained nearby. Blood still seeped from his finger, yet he did not utter a sound. Instead, he said calmly, “The chairman made himself clear. Lydia has to die. She knows too much. At this crucial juncture, if someone with ulterior motives uses her against us, the consequences will be severe.”
“I know,” Zachary replied coldly.
The memory of Dominic and Oliver toying with him moments earlier filled him with humiliation and fury.
Through clenched teeth, he said, “Dominic has a daughter. Put someone on her. Follow her every move.”
Neil’s composed expression changed. “Sir, are you certain you want to go that far?”
Zachary forced the words out. “Dominic, don’t push me too far. If you leave me no way out, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.”
Neil fell silent for several seconds before speaking. “I need to go to the hospital.”
Dominic settled Max into the car, then turned to Oliver. “Thanks for today.”

Oliver waved a hand. “It was nothing.”
He had never considered cooperating with Zachary, even if the proposed deal promised profits in the tens of millions. For one reason alone, Lilith, he would not interfere with Dominic’s decision for the sake of money.
Dominic nodded. His gaze shifted to the woman beside Oliver, and he smiled. “And this is?”
“My distant cousin,” Oliver replied. “She happened to be in Eastmere State these past few days. When she heard what was going on, she came with me.”
He shot the woman a brief glance.
“Nice to meet you, cuz,” Dominic said.
She looked at him and chuckled. “I was bored, so I came to watch the show.”
“Then I still owe you my thanks,” Dominic said.
“No need to be so polite.” She waved him off. “You’re very handsome. Almost as handsome as my man.”
Dominic did not believe that for a second. Surely no man could be more handsome than he was.
She checked her watch. “All right, you two talk. I’m leaving.”
With that, she turned and strode off, her figure fading into the night.
Dominic watched her go and clicked his tongue. “The Sinclairs really do have excellent genes.”
