After returning to the city, Dominic took Max straight to the hospital.

He made a call, and Brian arrived within minutes.

“Stay here and keep an eye on him,” Dominic ordered. “Call me if anything happens.”

Dominic checked the time. It was almost 11:00 p.m. He did not linger. He headed home.

With that, he stepped out.

Dominic did not hesitate. He turned and followed.

“Go easy,” she said softly.

He offered no response and left the apartment.

Yara stared at the notification showing the transferred funds. She froze. “This… This isn’t right. I can’t—”
