Chapter 503
At the image on the tablet, Jessica started and let out a small gasp.
Then, as if she remembered something, she quickly stood up. Joy lit her face as she dashed toward the door. “Dominic, are you here?”
Just as she reached the door, Dominic slipped out quietly and tiptoed up behind her.
“Little troublemaker!” he shouted.
“Ah!” The sudden voice near her ear made Jessica jump. She reflexively cried out, “Who, who’s there?”
In the next second, still shaken, she recognized the familiar voice. Her eyes widened with delight as she turned around. “Dominic?”
There he was. The Dominic she had thought about day and night stood before her, as if he had stepped straight out of the drawing, a mischievous grin on his face.
For Jessica, the moment felt like an overwhelming surprise. Without hesitation, she threw herself into his arms. “Dominic, how did you come here?”
As Dominic held her, he felt a softness he had not felt in a long time. She had just finished her shower, and a faint scent clung to her.
It was not overpowering, but it was pleasant enough to make his mouth go dry.
He suppressed the flutter in his heart, gently pushed Jessica back, and smiled. “I’m going to Eastmere tomorrow, so I came to see you today.”
Jessica felt overjoyed. It proved that Dominic truly kept her close to his heart.
She grabbed his hand and led him to the bed, where they sat down. “When you came earlier, why didn’t you call me?”
“Weren’t you in the shower?” Dominic replied.
“Even in the shower it’s fine!” Jessica said matter–of–factly. “It would be even better if you came in and helped me wash.”
At her words, Dominic instinctively thought that even a castrato might not be able to handle that situation.
He quickly changed the subject. “Hey, are the drawings on the tablet yours?”
Jessica grew unusually shy, as if he had discovered a secret. Her face flushed red, and she stammered, I–I was just doodling…”
Dominic laughed when he saw her like this. At that moment, the little troublemaker seemed endlessly
cute to him.

The sound of his laughter annoyed Jessica. She stood up and shoved him hard, sending him onto the
bed.
Dominic stared in surprise. When he saw her reach for the towel around her body, he quickly grabbed her hand to stop her. “Hey, Jessica, let’s talk this out. There’s no need for hands–on action!”
Jessica huffed in displeasure. “I’m not touching you! Why are you so worked up? Can’t I handle myself
first?”
Dominic grew increasingly nervous.
No matter who started first, if she did not stop, things could escalate quickly. He had to be careful.
