She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 1075

As shocked as Aria looked, Melanie felt her own surprise was far more justified.

After all, Aria knew very well that Melanie lived and worked in Averin.

But Aria was a different story.

Her father had banished Aria and Sabrina Lowell to the countryside.

"Banished" was putting it lightly—they had been unceremoniously kicked out to fend for themselves.

Earlier, before they entered the boutique, Melanie had briefly thought she spotted Aria in the crowd outside.

But she had quickly dismissed the idea, assuming there was no way Aria could be here.

She shouldn't be here.

So, Melanie had chocked it up to a trick of the light.

Yet here they were, face-to-face in the middle of a luxury boutique.

Staring at the woman, Melanie knew without a doubt that her eyes hadn't deceived her.

Seeing Melanie's brows furrow in blatant confusion and undisguised disgust, Aria let out a cold scoff, dramatically tossing her hair over her shoulder.

She had just gotten those fresh, voluminous curls done that very afternoon.

"Did you really think I'd be exiled forever just because I couldn't rely on the Royce family or your father?"

Her tone was dripping with venom, immediately drawing the curious attention of the two women beside her.

"Director Royce, who is this?"

Director Royce. That title immediately caught Melanie's attention.

Not only was Aria back in Averin, dropping cash in high-end boutiques, but she was suddenly a Director somewhere?

Just then, Preston stepped up to stand at Melanie's side.

Like Melanie, he clearly noticed Aria.

But unlike Melanie's shock, his devastatingly handsome face remained an unreadable, emotionless mask.

The moment Aria's eyes landed on Preston, they shimmered with unshed tears.

Back then, the reason she had been so ruthless, so desperate to seize control of the Royce Group...

...wasn't just for her own ambition.

It was for Preston.

She had been deeply infatuated with him.
