It was Leila Langley.
Melanie instantly turned and stumbled in the opposite direction.
Leila clung to President Arthur Warren's arm, acting the part of a coy seductress as she led him directly to the door of Suite 7021.
"After you, Mr. Warren!"
She swiped the keycard and pushed the door open, completely failing to hide the wicked smirk on her face.
But the older man didn't step inside right away.
He hovered in the doorway, eyeing her with a sleazy grin.
"Is the prize in there really that good? Are you absolutely sure you don't want to come in and join me?"
He reached out and stroked a finger under her chin.
Every hair on Leila's body stood on end.
The touch of this hideous, aging man made her skin crawl.
She had been agonizing over how to get him off her back while still delivering results for Dominic Hale.
Aria Royce's sudden intervention had been a total godsend. It was the perfect setup.
"I promise you, Mr. Warren, what's waiting inside is far better than me."
Seeing her total confidence, Arthur's eyes gleamed with renewed interest.
He had initially been satisfied with the idea of just bedding Leila tonight.
But an unexpected, fresh offering was a delightful surprise.
"But remember our deal, Arthur! Once you've had your fun, you have to approve that project for the Lockridge Group..."
"Consider it done. It's done."
He nodded eagerly, his greasy hands giving her shoulder one last squeeze.
Leila forced a strained smile.
"Oh, one more thing."
She slipped a small pill into his palm.
Without a single question, the older man swallowed it eagerly.
Aria hadn't provided that pill.
Aria had only supplied the potent drug meant for Melanie.
