She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 1115

"Ah... well..."

She stammered, caught off guard.

"It's just a bit sudden. How about this, Uncle Richard: I'll pick you up when you arrive in Averin, and we can figure out the details then."

"Alright, sounds like a plan."

After hanging up, Daphne's heart was practically beating out of her chest.

Was this really happening? Was she really introducing him to her family?

She still couldn't believe it.

"What do I do? How am I supposed to tell Everett about this?"

She muttered to herself, pacing nervously around her bedroom.

"If I just bluntly tell him it's a 'meet the parents' dinner, he's going to run for the hills!"

After agonizing over it, she pulled out her phone, typed a message to Everett, deleted it, and typed it again.

It took her over half an hour just to craft the right words.

Meanwhile, Everett had already returned to the office.

He was in zero mood to work.

But whenever he stopped focusing on a task, Jonas's cynical words echoed in his mind, making him even more frustrated and confused.

He tried to use work as a distraction, forcing himself to block out all the hypothetical disasters.

There were plenty of couples in the world who dated and never got married.

Just because he and Daphne were together didn't mean he was legally bound to marry her.

But if he wasn't dating her with the intention of getting married, wasn't he just wasting her time like a total jerk?

Sitting at his desk, he buried his face in his hands.

He felt like absolute garbage.

He was never supposed to be the bad guy!

His mind was a tangled mess, completely incapable of handling his workload.

"Everett... Everett?"

It took Melanie tapping on his desk ten times before he finally snapped out of his trance and looked up.

"...Ms. Royce?"

She gave him an exasperated look.
