She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 1193

When Melanie Royce returned to Aurelia Gardens, she found Preston Whitmore blocking her door.

He leaned against the wall, both hands stuffed into the pockets of his black slacks, looking as flawless as a perfectly rendered 3D model.

Hearing her footsteps, Preston turned his head. His gaze was filled with a deep, lingering resentment—

To put it bluntly, he looked like a man who had just been heartlessly dumped by the love of his life.

Melanie's mouth twitched repeatedly.

What exactly had she done this time to trigger him like this?

"Aria came to see me today."

Before Melanie could even ask, Preston cut straight to the chase.

Melanie's long eyelashes fluttered upward.

"Did she confess her love to you?"

Preston shook his head.

"She showed me photos of you and Shawn Sterling heading to the Gavin Lockridge Medical Research Institute together..."

Hearing Shawn's name slip from Preston's lips made Melanie's chest tighten.

If there was anyone Preston was insanely jealous of, it was absolutely Shawn Sterling.

Perhaps 'jealousy' was an understatement; it was more of a hyper-vigilant wariness.

Either way, Melanie still clearly remembered how badly she had provoked him the last time she grabbed a meal with Shawn.

Just as she opened her mouth to explain, she heard Preston continue:

"She also showed me photos of you having dinner with Gavin Lockridge."

Melanie furrowed her brows involuntarily.

"The photos must have been taken secretly from outside the private room. Our conversation shouldn't have been overheard."

Hearing her say this, Preston let out a small breath of relief.

Although she hadn't revealed her specific plans to Gavin, she definitely needed to be more careful about the walls having ears from now on.

"So..."

Melanie stared at Preston, her eyes bright and clear.

First Shawn, and then Gavin.

She didn't even have to try hard to guess the kind of nonsense Aria Royce had been spewing in front of him.

"Are you here to interrogate me? Or are you just here to be insanely jealous?"
