She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 155

"It's just an anti-cancer drug project. We don't need to compete with so many companies for it."

"What do you know!"

Evelyn flinched.

She watched as Dominic strode briskly over to Melanie, acting completely subservient.

"Melanie, after the reception ends, could you come back to the office with me? I'd like to go over the project proposal you wrote in more detail."

Knowing Dominic would say this, Melanie feigned disappointment and confusion.

"But didn't you already reject that project?"

"No, no, I meant… we could refine it a bit more."

"Oh, I see!" Melanie's eyes lit up again. "Alright then, I'll go back to the office with you… By the way, should we ask Evelyn to join us?"

Melanie deliberately said the last part loud enough for Evelyn to hear.

"We don't need her."

Dominic refused flatly.

If he hadn't listened to Evelyn's words and misunderstood Melanie as being too eager for a quick win, he wouldn't have nearly missed the golden opportunity to invest in Adrian Mercer's workshop.

Hearing the conversation between Melanie and Dominic, Evelyn was about to step forward in anger.

Just then, the acquaintances of Dominic who had been gossiping about Melanie behind her back all gathered around her. Some complimented her beauty and her high-end clothes, while others praised her for being brilliant enough to modify a bioprinter.

Dominic felt a surge of pride and couldn't stop smiling.

Not far away, Gabriel was frantically texting Preston Whitmore as if facing a major crisis, even sending a photo.

[Gabriel: Bro, Ms. Royce's husband is so shameless. He's hovering around her like a lost puppy. Ms. Royce is my future sister-in-law!]

Gabriel didn't even notice how tangled the relationships in his message sounded as he hastily sent it to Preston.

Solvane.

Preston was in a meeting with senior executives at a branch office.

"Mr. Whitmore, these are the reports for this quarter. Please review them."

Evelyn picked up two glasses of red wine and walked over.

"Mr. Whitmore…"

Gabriel ignored her.

"Mr. Whitmore, as you can see, Melanie is a married woman. If you're really trying to pursue her, perhaps… I could give you a hand?"

Gabriel lifted his eyes and asked with a smile, "You can help me? How?"

Evelyn handed one of the glasses to Gabriel.

He took it.

Then, she heard Evelyn lower her voice and say conspiratorially, "I can help you get Melanie to meet you, Mr. Whitmore. At a hotel... As long as you use a few little tricks, it won't be hard to make her submit..."

Evelyn felt her hint was clear enough.

Judging by how attentive Gabriel was to Melanie, he hadn't slept with her yet.

Once Gabriel had his fun with Melanie and lost interest, he would no longer be around to back her up.
