“Let go of Melanie!” Gabriel hissed at the computer screen.
“Bro, if this keeps up, Melanie is going to be snatched away by her current husband!”
Preston glanced at Gabriel, who spoke with complete seriousness, utterly unaware of how illogical his statement was.
Preston remained silent, his brows tightly knitted.
Melanie’s recent actions… were very unusual.
“Bro, why don’t you just reveal your identity? Tell Melanie you’re the head of Stellaris PharmaTech, then publicly toss a billion dollars at that Dominic guy and tell him to get his name off Melanie’s marriage certificate!”
As Gabriel was rubbing his hands together eagerly, Preston spoke coolly.
“Toss a billion dollars by hand? What am I throwing, Monopoly money?”

Night fell, and the city of skyscrapers glowed with neon lights.
In the elevator at Rosevale Heights, Melanie closed her eyes, nearly dozing off.
She had been exhausted the past few days.
It was mostly mental exhaustion.
She had to suppress a visceral feeling of disgust to act like she was deeply in love with Dominic.
But this… was all part of her plan.
Just getting the Hale Health Center to go public wasn't enough to properly set Dominic up for a fall.
She had to push Dominic to the highest peak of public opinion.
Only when people had placed Dominic on a pedestal as the “doting,” “loyal,” “devoted,” and “pure” husband would the backlash reach its peak when they discovered he was actually a sanctimonious hypocrite who had cheated on his wife with his own adopted sister and had an illegitimate daughter with her.
For that purpose, Melanie could endure it.
She entered the password and opened the door. The living room light was on.
The door to the guest bedroom was ajar, and the sound of running water came from within, indicating Preston was in the shower.
Melanie had intended to go straight to her Master bedroom, but as she passed the guest room door, Preston suddenly called out to her.
Melanie was stunned.
No matter how much of a germaphobe he was or how much he liked wearing gloves, he couldn't possibly wear them in the shower, could he?
While still baffled, Melanie handed the towel over, placing it in Preston’s hand.
But Preston suddenly grabbed her arm and yanked her into the bathroom.
The damp, hot air hit her face. Enveloped in the white steam, Melanie saw Preston right in front of her.
Preston’s upper body was bare, with glistening water droplets clinging to his firm chest and rock-hard six-pack.
He had a towel wrapped around his waist, revealing only his lean calves.
Thank goodness he had the towel on, or Melanie would have kicked him where it counted.
“Preston, what is the meaning of this?” Melanie asked directly, her voice and expression unpleasant.
Preston’s tall, muscular body suddenly pressed toward her, casting a large shadow over her.
“I think… my side effects are acting up again…”
