She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 246

Melanie turned toward the sound and was startled to see the man who had suddenly appeared behind her.

Why was Preston here?

As she wondered, a suit jacket, still warm from his body, was draped over her shoulders.

Melanie’s long lashes fluttered as her eyes reflected Preston’s finely chiseled face.

“It’s late. You’ll get cold.”

Just a few simple words, very much in Preston's style.

However, if Melanie recalled correctly, the weather forecast for today had predicted a low of seventy-seven degrees, which was even warmer than usual.

Though she had her doubts, Melanie didn't refuse Preston's jacket and instead thanked him.

Bryant stood before Melanie and Preston.

He was observing Preston.

He didn't know him.

But the way the other man looked at him suggested he knew everything about him.

It was a feeling that made Bryant uncomfortable.

And…

The man seemed very familiar with Melanie.

And, like him, seemed to be quite interested in her.

“Is this gentleman a friend of Ms. Royce?” Bryant asked directly.

“Yes,” Melanie nodded, saying nothing more.

She and Bryant weren't exactly friends, so she wasn't about to tell him that Preston was both her landlord and her suitor.

At that thought, the scene she had unintentionally witnessed while driving earlier flashed through her mind.

For all she knew, Preston might not be her suitor anymore.

Melanie subconsciously pressed her lips together.

The three of them stood at the main entrance of the Global Arven Assembly Center.

The atmosphere between them was delicate.

Bryant had never considered himself a talkative person, but standing before Melanie and Preston, he found himself being the most verbose of the three.

“So, you two already have plans?”

“No.”

“Yes.”

Melanie and Preston spoke at the same time.

Yet their answers to Bryant were complete opposites.
